@jun_aka_pekto: yeah! That's my great grandfather's desk. It's got some damage accumulating on some of the corners - I have to see if there's some pro who can restore and protect its neater finishes (the backside actually has a front-facing facade and beautiful shelves). But it's solid and the same desk I was playing X-Wing Star Wars and Doom and such on as a kid

@dxmcat: Any triple monitor setup with another above is a serious battle station. Your room overall looks like a fun place to be in.

@xantufrog: I used to do pick-ups and deliveries for a wood restorer, and you'd be surprised how good they are. They can do their best to match stains and things, but it's not always exact. That being said, it can get pricey.

My basement renovation is near complete. The carpet installation started today!!! I can’t wait to share what this ridiculous gaming setup looks like. It won’t be “done” for a bit because my custom arcade cabinets haven’t been started yet, but there will be 2, 55” 4K HDR tv’s in one room with a Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch hooked to each, and a home theater room with a 85” 4K HDR TV, 5.1.2 surround sound Dolby Atmos setup and a Xbox One X and PS4 Pro hooked up as well. My home office is near done too. There I have 2, 27” 1440p monitors hooked to a custom build running a 2080Ti and a Ryzen 7 2700X. New CPU coming next month of course.

Pics coming real soon!

Something tells me that you're gonna crush all of ours lol. What on Earth do you do for a living?

@lundy86_4: I bet. Honestly, I'd be willing to pay a fair amount because it's got so much sentimental value. It's maybe worth very little on resale, but it's the heart of my study and worth a lot to me.

@xantufrog: For something like your desk, I can't see it being too bad. It's a nice piece, and those memories never fade... I'm with ya. Well worth the cost.

Yesterday I had this thought in my mind like:

"Wouldn't it be cool to have a 240hz monitor and the hardware capable to run games at that framerate?"

Man, I love 120hz so much, it has really changed the way I game ^_^

240hz wouldn't be a bad thing. Although, I am quite happy with 120hz. Definitely diminishing returns when you start going over 120hz. I went from 144hz to 120hz when I went ultra wide and I don't feel like I am getting a lesser experience. Sure, I can notice the difference, but it is already really smooth at 120hz.

Yup! When a game is playing at 120fps or above, it's butter smooth. I love returning to older games as well (Battlefield 3, Crysis 2). Checking them out in ultrawide, 1440p AND 120Hz and it just feels like you are playing a remake at times. Thinking "damn, this game blows my mind" xD

I was playing Doom 3 not to long ago, and I can see some aspects where it still holds up, the monitor just enhances anything that you play.

I would love to show off my setup as well, but going under some crazy remodeling in my entire house as well with a lot of custom woodwork throughout. Will be done soon as well. I also want to upgrade to an atmos system but just won't make the plunge as we barely use our media room as it is. But my other hobby....my cars take up a lot more money than this does.

this is pretty old.

since I've taken this:

-I have a new desk that isn't ridiculously narrow and the tower is on the left side

-I have a new primary monitor, the one on the left in this picture is now on the right as my second.

-my TV is slightly different, I accidentally shot the one here with a BB gun

-also lost the remote to the fireplace in the TV stand so I can't turn it on any more

I was using the couch on the right of the pic as a backstop for some target practice, but there was a small gap between the head rests and main body of the couch I accidentally sent a couple of shots through.

definitely not one of my brighter moments. alcohol may have been involved

@Pedro: A lot of things are possible on a softmodded Original XBOX. And all you need is a black label copy of Splinter Cell, a 4GB or under USB Drive, and a cable to connect it to a controller port. c:

But I agree with you man. I wish the N64 actually looked this good natively.

Finally put my new TV stand together, and rearranged a little, so i'll update... That desk i\s getting changed out, as it's far too small for under that picture. It's my study spot, and that stool is getting replaced with a low-profile office chair.

@lundy86_4: That’s super nice and clean! Are you renting that place? If you are there are these plastic conduits you can hide the wires in and paint them the same color as the wall if that’s something you’re interested in. The wires are the only minor ding I could possibly come up with on what is otherwise a very nice setup. (TV wires are a pet peeve of mine and probably won’t bother most so ignore me if you want)

@goldenelementxl: Thanks. I doubt it's gonna stack up to yours when done lol. Nah, I own it free-and-clear. Mortgage/LoC was done a few days ago. I'm having BB come in to do in-wall routing, but my pup has an operation tomorrow costing $2000, and they just got all their jabs today which was $1000... It's gonna wait a couple weeks lol.

@lundy86_4: Holy Cow! Congrats on getting the place paid off. And it’s not a competition, lol. I come from extremely humble beginnings for one, and the other I don’t have pets or take trips too often. My wife, kids and I prefer staycations, really. So we invest in the house to make it the ultimate chill spot. Your money is being spent in different ways. What you’re paying for your vet bills would almost pay for my theater seats lol.

I’m hoping the best for you and your pets!

God damn those projector setups make me miss my old Optoma GT1080 setup.

Current game room looks like this moved my QLED into the bedroom with the Switch for the wife and took the Samsung UE55MU7000 and paired it with a Sono's Playbase and Sono's Sub in white which is behind the couch for the game room.

I'm always changing it around, I will probably end up selling the TV and getting another QLED for the game room as well.
