@uninspiredcup: Before I had those FF7 pics up, it was super unbalanced. The desk had to go there because I literally have no room anywhere else. It's getting fine-tuned as that wall is being wallpapered in a couple months.

I recently transferred my hardware into a Phanteks Evolve X case. The cable management is an absolute dream, loads of storage upgradeability (more than anyone would realistically need), fantastic airflow with plenty of fan and cooling configurations, and the RGB lighting is just the cherry on top.

So here's my latest pics, and full specs;

Ryzen 2600X (4.15-4.3 GHz XFR boost)
MSI RTX 2070 Armor OC
G.Skill Ripjaws IV DDR4 16 GB @ 3000 MHz
Gigabyte Aorus X470 motherboard
256 GB SSD boot drive
2 TB HDD (other programs and personal files)
5 TB HDD (games)
EVGA 750W GQ
BenQ 35" 3440x1440 ultrawide (21:9) 100 Hz
LG 29" 2560x1080 ultrawide, 60 Hz
Cooler Master MK750 keyboard (Cherry Blue)
Razer Basilisk mouse

@AdobeArtist: I Really want that case. I got the older model without the X in model name. My desk atm is a mess. It can be better, but still there is way to much here to really clean things up. Two PCs, but only one in use, PS4, two monitors, stereo, desk light, NAS.

*Okay so synchronizing my onedrive with my phone takes ages. I'll post the pictures when they are uploaded.*

My basement renovation is near complete. The carpet installation started today!!! I can’t wait to share what this ridiculous gaming setup looks like. It won’t be “done” for a bit because my custom arcade cabinets haven’t been started yet, but there will be 2, 55” 4K HDR tv’s in one room with a Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch hooked to each, and a home theater room with a 85” 4K HDR TV, 5.1.2 surround sound Dolby Atmos setup and a Xbox One X and PS4 Pro hooked up as well. My home office is near done too. There I have 2, 27” 1440p monitors hooked to a custom build running a 2080Ti and a Ryzen 7 2700X. New CPU coming next month of course.

Pics coming real soon!

Also didn't even see at first my setup on your screen, ha.

Oh and this should be fun; I found some old pics from back in 2013, when I had a pre-built HP computer, and before I got into the cable management, lol.

I got an external radiator yes.

MO-RA 3 420. I got 4 230mm fans on it. RPM just above 500. One fan will turn on once the water temp go above 25 and don't turn off before water temp goes below 20. So basically one fan is always on.

The 3 other fans turn on when water temp reaches 30C, turns off once below 25C. If room temp is below 20C, I know that I can run both CPU and GPU at max and those 3 fans will occasionally turn off. :D

Noise level is almost at an acceptable level. To lower it any more and I either have to pay up a heavy premium or suffer on the cooling part. My options are wrapping up the water pump in some insulation to cover for the noise it makes. New PSU as the PSU fan is the loudest component atm, replace the case fans with some that I can run at 500. Got the 3 fans that came with the case running at 700rpm. Replace the radiator with a massive radiator tower and have it running with passive cooling.

My computer is fairly quiet. But still makes some noise.

@ezekiel43: I’ve got those same Sony speakers for my home theater except I went with Sony’s bookshelf speakers for my surrounds. How do you like them? Also, did you try the atmos speakers on top of the tower speakers before you mounted them on the wall? I’m curious about how big the sound quality difference was if you did.

The Sony towers are pretty nice. No, I didn't try putting the height speakers on top of the towers. The bouncing off the ceiling theory sounds unbelievable to me. I do notice the height in my Atmos and DTS:X movies, but it's usually subtle.

Seems like it would be more muddled and imprecise than simply hanging them from the wall. Most people on the internet say it's not as good.

Certainly not as good as real ceiling speakers, but should give some impression of them.

Edit: I want to upgrade my sound setup (current is a Samsung soundbar+sub+rear speakers) to an Atmos one, but it's highly unlikely that I start mounting ceiling speakers. Don't have the money yet, but will probably go with a soundbar setup again.

Pics aren't the newest but show the basic lay out. Both subs are now in the rear of the room, swapped the X700 for an X800M2, swapped the APC for Panamax and added cooling onto of the the AVR and amp. Everything is less cramped on a new wider stand so the front speakers are a little wider out too. Some of the foam panels were replaced and some of the signage is different. Really wish I would have painted the room before I got this far and cannot wait to replace the couch. Really just a spare room turned man cave, so mostly just for me and occasionally my older son who loves watching movies and gaming in there. A constant work in progress.

My current set up

  • Sony XBR-65X930E (w/luminoodle)
  • Sony UBP-X800M2
  • Apple TV 4K
  • PS4 Pro
  • Xbox One X
  • Denon AVR-X6200W(Surround/Heaights)
  • Emotiva XPA-3(L/C/R)
  • Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 65 x3(L/C/R), ProMonitor 1000 x4(Surround), DI5.5R x4(Atmos/DTS X)
  • SVS PC-2000 x2(Subs)
  • AC Infinity Aircom T8 x2

So I finally decided to clean up the mess and make my setup more presentable. Here it is:

Top: PC with my Corvo mask (Dishonored), Zelda Wind Waker statue, Yoshi and a pin I got from Age of Mythology ^_^

Bottom: Wii U, PS4, SNES mini and Xbone along with my PC hooked up to my Samsung TV.

Just cleaned up my Xbox 360 and Gamecube so they are now no longer hooked up and just in a nice desk somewhere.

Lol, behold the glory

I wouldn't sneer at that hardwood desk. It will probably outlast most newer and more stylish desks. ;)

Nintendo Switch. Never liked having any type of media consumption devices overwhelm a living area. Sony 32W650A for the tv.

I made a TIM switch in my 2080 Ti and put in the Noctua NT-H2 paste. It brought the full load thermals down to 68C from 71C. Not bad for just paste.

And, I did some cable re-routing. I still want to add an RGB light strip below the PSU shroud for some accent lighting on the Queen.

Also, I forgot to add my TV/HTPC. It's nothing fancy. Just a 7600k/16 GB ram/RX 580 GPU. Works for 1440p, but I don't use it for gaming a whole lot. I picked up the GPU for 160 with Resident Evil 2 and Division 2, so the GPU was essentially 40 bucks. It's hooked up to a 55" Samsung 6QFN that I picked up for 650 bucks. Pretty awesome deal. I want to maybe get a PS5 to add to the combo if it has BC, so I can play all those PS4\PS5 exclusives on not such a shitty system.

Threw all RED on the fans/ram, because it's less bothersome at night when watching movies.

The Sony towers are pretty nice. No, I didn't try putting the height speakers on top of the towers. The bouncing off the ceiling theory sounds unbelievable to me. I do notice the height in my Atmos and DTS:X movies, but it's usually subtle.

It's how my Sony HT-ST5000 does atmos... It will never match higher-mounted speakers, but it's not outright terrible. Largely just middling.

@R4gn4r0k: I like the brick and wood look. Your monitor is garbage though. Only an idiot would buy that monitor. *looks at his own monitor*

@DragonfireXZ95: That Alien is having one hell of a disco party. hehe :)
