Polygon Praises COD WWII's Campaign, 'Exceeded Expectations' - Return of the King!!!

Call of Duty: WWII’s campaign has to serve many different masters, and that tension often feels like it may overwhelm the story’s goals. The campaign’s tone shifts around a bit too much, but the entire experience provides a surprisingly varied and enjoyable look at a war that has been pored over by every aspect of pop culture. Historians may flinch at the overblown nature of some of these missions, but the single-player campaign exceeded my expectations for a Call of Duty experience.

Will get much hate on System Wars, and over the years I feel some of that hate was definitely deserved.

Sounds good. I still very much enjoy the Call of Duty games and I’m looking forward to playing this one as well.

Like I said in your other COD thread: it's not about playing games anymore, it's not about fun anymore or gameplay or whatever... It's about finding stuff wrong with the game, stuff that upsets your view on things.

Looks much better than Wolfenstein.

I don't think CODs gunplay will be anywhere near the levels of Rising Storm 2 or Wolfenstein 2.

But COD can bring other stuff to the table. I'm sure it'll be a fun game.

Yes, there is a healthbar in this game. Though it looked a bit too forgiving on normal difficulty,

so I'll give it a shot on hard, actually trying to play it tactically and use leaning (which is a feature in the PC version, but not on consoles)

Playing Wings Of VI right now, about 1/6 the price, no bs.

I’m waiting on ACG’s review of the game and go from there. Although, in the end I’ll end up getting the game...lmao. My friends are all getting it and it’s been a while since I played with them online on Xbox.

I may give it a shot, if it has a solid campaign. I care not for its MP.
