Been noticing this for awhile and people have been posting about ps3 memory vs 360 memory. And how 360 memory is better.

So let the game prove it. When I look at Gears, It looks really great but the number of objects in the games looks limited. There is alway a small number of objects. Never an overwhelming number.

Then I look at Resistance, Warhawk, LAIR, and Killzone screenshots, I always see so much happening on the screen. The number of objects is just overhelming. And the draw-distance seems to be better on the ps3 too. I thought 360 memory was better, but the games just don't show it like ps3 which is overwhelming on the screen. Am I wrong? Please provide screenshots.

We can argue all we want back and forth... but screenshots speaks louder than words.

PS3 and 360 have the same amount of memory. The PS3's RAM is faster, but that doesn't matter if you're just comparing how much is on screen at a given moment.

depends on many things actually. Take this example. I can have over 500,000 cubes on screen on all three consoles at 60fps framelocked (meaning that they all can handle much more, but take this as an example...).

Now, it looks that none of the consoles have any difference then. But now let's get these cubes moving... They all still can handle it. Now let's add some AI shall we?

Now on the Wii, the cubes all can dodge each other, join together with correctly matching cube types and stick together, then continue looking for matching cube cluster types, all in keeping the 60fps.

The Xbox 360 can do all that, plus have each group of cubes that formed look for other cube clusters that have similar shapes which may be off by say one to 2 cubes, but follow a regular general pattern.

The PS3 can do all that plus have each cube within each cluster choose at will to disjoin, and connect with a different color set of cubes. All will prevent orphans (single cubes without a cluster), and will all have forces of attraction. In that way, each cube will have it's own attraction or repelling force (like a magnet) and as they form clusters, the forces are altered. some clusters will become +. others -, and others neutral.

Basically, number of objects isn't limited to memory, rather, it's CPU. The 360 and Wii can handle craploads of objects on screen as well, but will the AI be the same calibur as the PS3?

THe PS3's CPU is superior for that, but in this generation, we don't have the power to render 500,000 fully detailed character models due to GPU constraints, not CPU... Sure, Lair may be great, but you'll notice the character model details are a bit lacking in hugemonogus scenes...

360, Bethesda had an extra year with the PS3 and even then they couldn't get horse armor into the game.

Horse armor is an object, no?

Bethesda even said they couldn't put the horse armor in the game because of RAM limitations.
