What a year for Nintendo. Almost every month a multi-million seller hops onto store shelves. It seems Acreus was the number one selling physical game in Europe thanks to amazing gamers. This feat is astonishing due to the competition, and Acreus only being available on one device. I wonder if any other game thats coming out can take the throne. Long live Pokemon?

Not this lazy series again. More effort is put into the yearly Madden than a Pokemon game🥱

The YouTube comments on the IGN review for this were pretty good.

There is a ton of potential for these games. But they really need to step back and take the time the flesh out everything. So close to greatness, in my opinion.

At least with Arceus they are trying some new things.

Definitely the best Pokemon game in years and I hope this is the future for the series to be extended into the main line of games.

I really liked the battle system and the new gameplay elements, but the world itself left a lot to be desired. It definitely lays the groundwork for future games to grow off. It was a good change of pace from the normal formula of Pokemon games.

Good, let this be a lesson to Nintendo that people are more than willing to gobble up new ideas in the franchise.

Some changes to the battle formula werent that great, a lot of it was good though, especially the flow.

I would like the next game to build of this formula. Take the best of both worlds.

  • Bring back all the moves that were missing
  • Make it so that Defense buffing moves dont buff both sp def and def. And vice versa with attack buffing moves.
  • Keep the speed and flow of battles.
  • Make some tweaks to the the turn based system. It could work really well.
  • Have more than 1 town. They could bring back factions, but instead of a strict adherence to a type, they could have a stick to a theme instead. A grass type faction could employ grass, water, ground, bug and maybe poison.
  • Have more than one dungeon.

Source lists Elden Ring as the top game in Europe for 2022, but notes digital sales are not included for Pokemon Legends which is the top physical game.
