Is this yet another Sony exclusive win? 89 MC at the moment. Looks interesting. You interested, SW?

Astro Bot looks great! Lots of people are calling it the Mario 64 of VR which is a pretty bold claim, but it's not hard to imagine why. I'm an Oculus user but I'm pretty envious right now. Might have to get a PSVR at some point.
Definitely a sleeper hit and perhaps PlayStation's answer to Mario?

After reading on Astro Bot, it's now consider the best PSVR game up to date and the equivalent to Mario 64 for the platforming genre. And since Mario 64 was the best Mario game I enjoy since Super Mario World, I was looking for a good strong reason to pick up a PSVR but this video really got me all excited. I'm just more amazed this never got mention in any Sony press this year, this is a sleeper hit indeed. I don't wanna shell out cash to buy PSVR but I understand this game just wouldn't work without VR.
Looking like another great game to add to my psvr collection. Seriously wish sony would have a huge price cut so more people can experience how awesome vr is.
Edit: the only thing I don't like about this game is the little robot dude. Really generic looking character. Cmon sony, get creative.

I'm sure we'll see a huge discount PSVR in the upcoming holidays, believe me, I'm waiting to see if I can find the best deals on Black Friday as it is.
@davillain-: That would be awesome, might really help push some more PSVR sales. Also, if they keep putting out games like this then that's sure to convince people to hop on the VR train also!
I'm hoping we all get some nice discounts this holiday season, no matter the console persuasion. :D
It jumped up to 90 on metacritic! This game looks amazing! Definitely going to pick it up. People are calling it the Mario 64 of VR, and from the looks of it, they're not wrong. PSVR just got another classic exclusive, it seems. :)
Count me in. I'm totally gonna get this!
PSVR is awesome btw. Those pregnant ladies who can't handle VR can stick to their TVs :D
lolpsvr
Yes, lol @ PS VR for getting a quality exclusive game.
This made me lol.
@whatafailure: It's a natural progression. VR, and the PSVR specifically, is getting better and better and more people are taking notice. The PSVR has a number of great exclusives at this point, and Sony recently made a public statement that much more is on the way.
IDK its 15 places that do reviews, and maybe only 1-2 of them I'd actually read their review.
I'm quite interested in it, Amazon has it bundled with Moss for $299, which I would consider if on sale this holiday.
@saltslasher: There's also the Firewall Zero Hour bundle. FZH is a great game if you're into tactical shooters. But Moss is great too.
I almost read that as "Astro Boy" and I thought for a second, an Astro Boy getting a video game of his own in this aged? Why even name this Astro Bot when I almost took it as Astro Boy?
I also thought it said "Astro Boy". Maybe Japan Studio is paying homage to Astro Boy?
side note observation about VR
I think all current generation devices that can play games from cell phones to PCs have a VR headset...except for ...xbox
Ehh it'll come. Microsoft have already made it clear that VR/AR is a large part of their company future which means it will be available for Xbox eventually. My guess is mid gen 9, so 2022 or 2023.

yeah like they eventually made a huge hit into the smart phone market...rrrriiiiiggghhhttt

Yes, lol @ PS VR for getting a quality exclusive game.
lol at using psvr and quality in the same sentence
A quality game is a quality game. Trying to bash a game because of the platform it's on is nothing but fanboy stupidity.
Welcome to system wars, newbie

That only means Xbox One X. I guarantee that Scarlet will support VR.

I used the same word when talking about MS getting into the smart phone market.
I did have to eat my words

Thing is, VR/AR covers a wider spectrum than smartphones which was only suitable for casual gamers. In relation to Xbox, it makes perfect sense as VR is a hardcore and casual gaming platform rather than just one or the other.
Besides, Microsoft are furthest ahead in AR right now at least from what's been revealed publically, and they were the first to do inside-out tracking for VR too
Only 15 reviews, but, but its at 90 lol.
Good news! Unless it upsets you.
Actually it makes me laugh, hence the lol. It just goes to show that the majority of reviewers don't care much for VR.

whatever...if you say so
just saying a major innovation company like microsoft failed to get into what is the most natural progression of such a company which is smart phones and the internet, but you have faith that they will for some reason (despite missing out on smart phones and amazon and streaming video) hit a home run in VR even though they are the last player to not have that already. put your chips down and lets get ready to bet!
ok...lets see how that pans out.
