PlayStation One War (The Final Battle???)

FF9. FF7 was one of my absolute favourites, but I enjoyed the FF9 universe more... More of a return to fantasy form.

9 characters don't look cool or FF Enough for me, I like the way Cecil looks in FF4 and Shadow in FF6 I don't like the way the characters look in 9

Yes! It more imagination. Gameplay has similar feel but it not so drab to look at. Number 7 to me look like a Tekken version of Street Fighter Kids game.

It has a feel of Mario RPG imo. Some music it like Mario RPg for instrumentation.

FF7 of course. FF9 is cool but hated the equipment skill grind, card game is crap and trance mechanics is sh*t.

Can't believe i'm going to say this but this guy is right.

I've only played 2, 3 and 7 and those were at least 20 years ago so I can't offer a valid opinion. Currently on #1 as I make my way through the series now.

If I had either of those games on a desert island, I would throw it in the campfire to get some value out of it. Otherwise, I have no use for them and there are many PS1 games that I would prefer to have over them.

Anyhoo, my vote is for FF9. FF7 was great, but it was over-the-line in terms of its twist to cyberpunk. It laid the foundation that was the atrocity known as FF8. I wish I lived in a world where FF9 did much better than it did, because perhaps X would not have been a linear graphics-fest and a spiritual successor of VII. Squaresoft tried to put a genie back in a bottle with IX, but it was too late. The "new fanbase" took the series over and it really hasn't been the same since.

FF7, the characters , the story, the epic sadness when a certain character dies. By far one of the greatest games i’ve ever played in my life :)

Absolutely cannot wait for FF7 remake and see what they do with it!

7. This was the title that introduced me to RPGs. The music was fantastic. The story was compelling. The gameplay simple but had some depth, and there were toooooons of side content. So much so that it forced me to buy one of those prima strategy books because I felt compelled to do/see everything.

This game also helped solidify the Playstation as a brand, which is ironic considering it was originally going to go to Nintendo.

FF7 is not better than FF9.. It's a great game, but come on. On that note, to each their own. I wouldn't be surprised if half the people voting haven't played either, or just one of the two, and are just going off of hipster status. Whatever though.. you do you. Both are great games, but 9 over 8 over 7 is my vote for the 3. Now if we are going with original wow factor and the game that opened the door of possibilities? 7 for sure.

Both are not my favourite Final Fantasy games on the PS1. Final Fantasy 8 is my favourite.

I disliked the character design in Final Fantasy 9. Therefore, FF7 > FF9.

I find this game in thrift store for $4.98. This same day I also find Vagrant Story for same price. More but I forgot the games. All game look very clean like never play. Not crease on the book either. Not a collector it just weird to see such old game in such good condition.
