But then, knowing Sony, theyve perfected the craft of doing the exact same thing over and over again reguardless of how many times it fails, and expecting a different outcome.
So chances are they might STILL afflict more of this upon us reguardless of noone asking for it. :|

I look foreward to The Last of Us (though unlike cows my hype is at down to earth levels). Personally, I care about GOOD games. The matter of wether or not a game is a "new IP" is not something I commit conscious thought to. All I care about is if a game is GOOD or not. I do not care about a new IP for the sake of it being a new IP.
The "new ip" arguement is nothing but another system wars buzzword for Cows to attach themselves to,because its ammo for them to use in System Wars . Yet we know how much they care about their new IPs :roll:

Oh that's what you meant. Misread your first post. However, there were fans asking for this type on a PS platform for awhile now especially during the PS2 days. Sony finally decided to greenlight the project with a minimal budget so it's not a big risk. If it's successful it could open the doors for a sequel and a bigger budget for it or in PSASBR's case, get more characters and add more polish to it. I think it's a good game on it's own merits where it can stand on it's own and exist next to Smash considering we've only been getting one Smash game a console generation so it does well as an alternative if you're waiting or if you don't have a Wii and want to play this type of game. The sequels to their IPs get made if the fans ask for it most of the time. You may not like Killzone or Resistance but other people do (though we may not get a new Resistance game anytime soon) but hey it's your opinion. On topic though, I want this game to succeed so there can be a possible sequel that improves on the formula and fixes any issues with its predecessor which in my opinion should be the menu and story mode cutscenes.
