Some months ago Microsoft showed us the Xbox One Scorpio on E3.

Some days ago Sony showed us the Playstation 4 Pro on the Playstation Meeting.

These two are the rivals against each others, so now let's come to my question for you, which one would you go for and why?

I'm going to choose PS4 Pro because I already have my Gaming PC from Microsoft, and my first console was from Sony, playstation 1!

For you that wondering when these rivals are coming out, PS4 Pro releases 10th november 2016.

And the Xbox One S 2TB 14th september 2016, 1TB & 500GB rumors to release between holiday 2017 and 15th november 2017!

Both are trash for gaming, ps4 has some ok exclusives and xb1 is good for 4k bluray.

Still might just get both cause I like those features.

I'm getting Scorpio because the leap from the original Xbox One to Scorpio is much greater than the leap from the original PS4 to Pro.

Plus, I really like what Microsoft has been doing lately; they have been listening to what their customers want and delivering it which gives me a lot of faith in Scorpio and beyond, whereas Sony has been on a roll with doing crappy things and being anti-consumer lately, so I don't feel very optimistic about the future of Playstation until Sony gets humbled again to bring them back down from their current state of arrogance and complacency.

I'll keep my current PS4, but I do not plan to get the PS4 Pro.

Have decided to go with the pro this November after gaming exclusively on PC for a few years. A few reasons: Price is pretty great I have to say, better than expected. Since all games will still run on Ps4, playing them on Pro in 1080-mode should guarantee great performance with some extra effects. I think switching to 4k TV is say 2-3 years away for me. Finally Sony does have some appealing exclusives like Uncharted, Spiderman, Horizon, GOW, perhaps the last guardian, and maybe some sequel to TLOU (I sold my Ps3 before I got to play the DLC for TLOU, so looking forward to the remaster).

Scorpio is like what 40% faster. Not sure how much that will actually matter for 1080p gaming. If you wanna go 4k next year, then I think Scorpio makes more sense. Not excited about any of the MS exclusives tbh.

There's no "Scorpio" yet, and "announced" specs ....... oh well, those are as good as a fart in the wind so ...... there's no such thing as PoS4 Pro vs "Scorpio".

Lol, no the specs aren't out. To say vaguely 8 core cpu and 6 tf gpu with TBD on everything else is not specs at all. It's a vague idea at best. Also TF's don't really mean anything in relation to games, it's actually a theory on paper but not actual performance from a video game. At best a couple TF's more may mean a few FPS more but dependant on the game's development.

Microsoft has seen Sony take them to lightly imho, I reckon ms could go even further and boost above 6tf's to really stick it in. They have a good few months before manufacture I guess only time will tell.

Every generation, gamers always tend to flock more towards the more "powerful" console.

The Scorpio WILL shit on the PS4P.. Sony screwed up, they did not plan for this.

Getting XB1 Scorpio cuz PS4 Poo has no one hyped for it from youtubers to media that did not even cheer for it at the reveal LOL. Scorpio will actually be true 4k Native 60fps. PS4 will be just upscaled crap since its no where near powerful enough to handle 4k & will be worthless for a 4ktv with that junky PS4 Sandwich.

$100 is way to much money just for 1080p that PS4 Sandwich will have at 30fps. Barely any difference. Gonna save that $100 for Scorpio so it gets put to good use for true Native 4k 60fps. Plus pS4 has NO games this holiday LOL. How will it show off its baby bop power boost? Uh...TLG lmao?

This holiday XB1 is stacked with games that consumers will buy this holiday along with XB1 S with that 4k blu ray player & exclusives u cant buy on PS4 or Nintendo this holiday and Eye Candy console

1TB Xbox One S -> $349 -> Most games are 900p to 1080p

1TB PS4 Pro -> $400 -> Most games are 1080p to 4K games; with 30 to 60fps. Ex. Rise of the Tomb Raider can run at 1080p at 30-60 fps on PS4 Pro.

The choice for a person looking to play games is pretty obvious if you're looking to purchase a console this fall. Also, you shouldn't just be looking at PS4 games this fall but also most of 2017. GT Sport, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Dreams, Detroit, all of the multiplatform games etc. will all be superior for a mere $50 more.

I'll leave it at this ..... Battlefield 1 is 720p 60fps on Xbox One (S). It's going to be 1080p+ 60fps on PS4 Pro.

I preordered pro because of price, games and performance ratio. Also, it helps that its coming out this year. Scorpio will be great for those that don't like Sony exclusives, but I have to ask will a 40% increase in performance be worth waiting for a full year and possibly at a higher cost?

The Scorpio could have more development time for the games that are being made for it. The Scorpio would be very expensive.

Lol I remember people saying that Sony needs to bring the clock speed up on that CPU. 1.6 isn't enough, it needs to be where Xbox One was. Now that it's going to be in the 2's the complaint is that they should have gone with a different CPU all together! Talk about moving goal posts...

I doubt Scorpio will do native 4k on really demanding AAA games, so both consoles have more than enough to do 1080p/60fps for most games. So it is just a matter of which brand you like best.

According to comparable hardware, a factory OC'd 390X, this isn't true, that card is essentially spec'd the same but from older architecture than Scorpio will have and can handle games like The Witcher 3 on Ultra at 4K better than the PlayStation 4 in terms of frame rate at 1080p and a mix of low/medium/high settings.

Of course it won't. Which is why I expect the Scorpio will only appeal to people that are already invested in the Xbox ecosystem. Everyone else will either get a PS4P or keep their existing PS4s.

I preordered pro because of price, games and performance ratio. Also, it helps that its coming out this year. Scorpio will be great for those that don't like Sony exclusives, but I have to ask will a 40% increase in performance be worth waiting for a full year and possibly at a higher cost?

Yes. Because it means not spending money for at least another year.

Of course it won't Which is why the Scorpio will only appeal to people that are already invested in the Xbox ecosystem. Everyone else will either get a PS4P or keep their existing PS4s.

Yeah, I mean if the Scorpio was 2x better than PS4 Pro then I could totally understand people wanting to wait a full year for better performance, but I really don't see why people just don't get a Pro this year when in reality both will be upscaling to 4K from lower resolutions anyways. A 40% boost in performance is still not enough to take most AAA games to native 4K resolution with the same graphical settings as the Pro.

I keep seeing people say this about Scorpio and it's not rooted in any form of reality.

Scorpio's GPU is the direct hardware comparative of a factory OC'd 390X, however with newer and superior architecture.

To make a long story short, a factory OC'd 390X has no trouble tackling native 4K on Ultra/Very High settings at 30 FPS, the rest should be self explanatory.
