I like seeing sexualised characters in my games

I really don't care for the current beauty standard. Games are already larger than life anyway:

Carry huge two handed weapons and wield them like a breeze, survive hundreds upon hundreds of bullets, ...

What are some of your ideas that don't stroke with the current industry standards?

I love ultra violent zombie games, for example some of the finishing moves in Dead Rising.

I wouldn't call your fascination with female video game characters perverse, because you acknowledge it is just a fantasy world.

Currently it seems a lot of developers don't want to portray sexy or attractive characters in their games anymore.

Talking about cool finisher moves, I feel it's one of the highlights of Saints Row (there aren't that many :p)

Also I heard Dead Island 2 is supposed to have ultra gory ones.

I want Manhunt 3 full gore I want people to play the game and throw up and be disturbed just like what the Exorcist did back in the day.

I too like waifus (or male characters if you're a female) in the game and I don't see anything wrong with that per se. I mean that's the reason movies/shows/plays casts attractive actors/actresses. What I don't like is tasteless, in your face stuff like that Quiet dance scene MGS V etc. That's just disgusting.

@pc_rocks: Heck I don't dislike attractive or over the top sexual males in games either.

That biceps on the Gears dude or Chris Redfield in RE5, for example.

Way too many ugly/wimpy characters in games today.

Other than dreaming of seeing characters like Mario, Peach, Link and Zelda having sex in the games they appear in (Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odysee), my most recent "perverse" gaming thoughts goes with Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its musou spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Both these games can be made into a hentai with the games' protagonists sleeping with other playable characters just to gain support or improve morale. Claude is great to appear in a sexualized version of Fire Emblem as he can "bed" with almost every female character.

The issue with sexialize females in games is that it is just females 99% of the time. There will be very little ground to argue on if things were balance. But, there is also the disingenuous view of what a sexualize male looks like and it not guys from gears or Kratos.

People keep talking this narrative on the internet but I see plenty of attractive characters in modern games today.

In an era where gamers were predominently male, I can agree and I can see why it was mostly females being sexualised.

These days are long gone now.

I don't wanna go too far off topic, or else I'd love to discuss this topic with you.

Instead I love to hear your perverse thoughts about gaming.

Note though I say perverse, not perverted. Which is something a lot of people seem to read here :p

I believe the consumer expectation and push for realism and having the most state-of-the-art graphics in the industry often creates a product that strips away the identity of what makes a video game, a video game; and it stifles the innovation of creative new types of games we could play because the industry becomes afraid of taking risks for the new.

Visually games want to look like movies, and I really miss the colorful days and games having unique artstyle and anthropormphic characters.

While gameplay wise they just stick to what works, and that usually means open world.

@R4gn4r0k: The games still exist, but they typically get looked down on by the graphics whores, and there's a lot of them.

I think one of the saving graces right now is the indie market. Definitely some interesting stuff coming out. The AAA market has lost its value over the years.

Chris Redfield in RE5 might be over the top but still okay. Gears on the other hand is just bad design through and through. Character designs in for example fighting games like Street Fighter are great. Those designs are over the top, larger than life but still doesn't look sh*t like Gears or JRPGs.

Can agree with that. The reason I like a single Gears character, Marcus Phoenix, is because of the voice actor: John Dimaggio.

Personally I find it hot when games aren't perverted with microtransactions, subscription plans, release now fix it later mentalities, and strung out game design called live services which is supposed to keep me checking in daily like a parole officer all so the publisher can brag about daily user engagement at the next quarterly report.

That always fucking does it for.

For me the Final Fantasy 7 characters look very realistic, almost CGI like. They have a certain "alure" to them.
