Persona 5 Royal achieves strong sales according to SEGA

Amazing achievements! Although no total shipment figure given by SEGA, they highlighted strong performance by the critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive series on digital platforms, very high that even with pandemic happening it still able to achieve record sales. The Royal Edition is finally translated to major european languages so may count to huge sales numbers. Hopefully this translate to announcement of Persona 6 for PS5 this June Persona 5: Scramble English edtion soon! Persona 5 Royal is available only on PS4.

Fun trivia: Persona 5 Royal sold 400k unit in a month in Japan.

Nice. I wonder what their plans are for next gen. It would be a no brainer to port it over.

@magnum3000: Royal is a very good game. If you played original, $30 is a good jumping price.

Btw just get the whatever ultimate edition on psn if you want those costume dlc as the dlcs cost more than the game. Rolled my eyes when I saw the prices. Its actually more economical to buy the ultimate physical edition than buying any other version of the game.

Well deserved.

Well deserved. Finished it yesterday, after clocking in 96 hours... So it's a long game. Probably gonna roll something else before I jump back in for NG+.

Finished the game at around 140 hours. I got wrap up maxing stats for my Lucifer, Alice and Yoshitsune. Idk its always satisfying when I max Alice in any persona/smt game.

So this just confirms that cows are stupid and easily milked and a few hermits as well. Damn you people are stupid lol.

@sakaixx: Shockingly, I never bothered with max rank Persona's, as the free DLC just breezed me after Okumura. I'll definitely experiment more going forward, as Strength was the only confidant I didn't max.

I think I have two more trophies to unlock and i'll plat the game.

Totally deserving and glad the series is reaching to new heights.

Did it outsell the original Persona 5?

It'll be on sale soon enough. I'm also waiting for a heavy discount.

edit: standard version is already on sale at amazon for less than $50.

@onesiphorus: I think it's a bit too soon for it to outsell OG Persona 5, which sold 3.2 million after like a year or something. But it's possible that Royal may eventually get there.

steelbook version is the same price on Gamestop right now too. I bit.

According to Gamstat, Persona 5 has an estimated 4.5 million players worldwide. Since we know OG P5 sold 3.2 million, that would point to P5R having sold an estimated 1.3 million units worldwide. It sold 400,000 in Japan, which would mean P5R sold an estimated 900,000 overseas.
