Persona 5 First 18 Minutes (MAJOR SPOILER WARNING)

Okay, so:

• Hot dayum that music
• The graphical style is so great
• There seems to be so much more meat to the moment to moment gameplay compared to Persona 3 and Persona 4
• A voiced protagonist!
• That's one fucking way to start the game off!

I saw a ton of clips and the day-to-day track seems really repetitive. Other than that, awesome!

Tempted though I am to watch the video, I'd rather get it all fresh come Valentine's Day next year. Why torture myself now?

A Persona game with actually a good start? Am I dreaming?

In these 18 minutes, I already have an EXTREMELY good grasp of what the game is about. Compare this to Persona 4 which started really slowly and took about 3 hours to even get started. In comparison, this game immediately throws you in the action.

Outside of hilariously bad lipsyncing, they have really improved the presentation too. The comic book effect does the game a lot of favors.

Overall, there is nothing, but minor nitpicks to have about the game's first 18 minutes. Excellent work by Atlus.

I don't know how good 4 was, I couldn't get past the start. It was just terrible and sooooo boring.

Yeah, the starting is absolutely amazing. I'm really impressed with how much it stands out compared to P3 and P4

Having fun with Persona 4 dude. Although I will say I hope I never see a Persona 4 fan come down on "movie games" or QTE's. Much of my time has been spent pressing X to move dialogue along. But it is fun and some of the character stuff is funny as hell.

Persona 4's start is legendary for being slow. The game gets far less, er, movie like as you play more and more of it. Most of the game is still gameplay (though the gameplay itself often consists of dialog selections and the like in the non Midnight Channel segments).

But yeah, the game is great. For my money, it's a good example of how a story heavy game should be done.

@Chutebox: Its no secret that I fucking hate jrpgs but Persona 4 is worth getting past the awful start.

Also I loved the slow start of P4 and how there was a murder mystery and how it slowly unfolds. Bam enter the TV world. One of the few games with slow start that actually got me more interested. It was like interacting with an anime.

I dont like anime or jpgs but this was one of my top 5 games I saw at E3 just based on its style alone. (Zelda, Sea of Thieves, FH3 and BF1 were my top 5)

The best PS4 games I saw at E3 were this, ABZU, Bound and KoF.

Like I said haha, it's absolutely worth sticking with Persona 4. Treat it more like a murder mystery novel or something going into it, and I suppose you will be able to adjust to its pace better. It picks up a couple or so hours in- still a problem, but one that Persona 5 thankfully won't have, it seems like.

The artstyle is definitely gorgeous. I really like just how stylish the UI is as well.

Oh man, the art style of P5 alone makes it seem like an interactive anime far more than P4 ever came off as.

If you won't watch the 18 minute gameplay, at least watch the theme song video.

It was a great game with a ton of style. The vita version is a lot easier to get into than the PS2 version

Is that like Fire Emblem where your characters cant die?

Could use more difficult platforming but other than that I think it beats the other Persona's action wise.

Yeah, if you die in battle, it basically asks you if you want your characters revived and continue exactly from where you left off.

currently still working my way through P4G. Doubt I finish anytime soon, 45 hours in.

You're actually about halfway through. I'm going to assume your game is somewhere around late July to mid September.

This game looks pretty damn good.

What excites me most is how this game is based in the heart of Tokyo, a city that I am completely in love with. I wonder how well it will map real-world locations into the gamw (Tokyo Mirage Sessions already did a great job with a small part of Shibuya).

The first 18 minutes of Persona 5 major. In my opinion, given that the text is Japanese, I don't think we'll get most of the nuances, but the general sequence of events of the beginning are all there, 'spoiled' by the intro, so to speak.

That said, I said the spoiler is major for a certain reason, but even answering why the spoiler might be major would be a spoiler so :/

Sony seems to think so they rather show (lego SW / Division dlc / Battlefront DLC) all of witch are first on xbox then to show P4 at at E3

and no I dont think ps4 have no games but this look protty PS2 dated to me

The trailer was not an E3 trailer, it was originally made for a Japanese concert.
