Persona 3 Reload + Persona 5 Tactica announced! Xbox two day marketing deal is up!

Looks like there is a Persona 3 Remake and a Persona 5 spinoff! Originally announced for Xbox/GamePass but now is multiplat!

Those pernicious Persona 3 remake rumours are doing the rounds once again, which is equal parts exciting and exhausting. A web domain has been updated in line with previous Atlus releases and following the same format, leading to speculation that an announcement is imminent.

It has been speculated (including by the Japanese Twitter user tracking all of these domains) that the "RE" suffix could refer to some kind of "Reloaded Edition" or just "Reload", potentially a reference to the game's famous and supposedly controversial Evoker handguns.

As relayed by the dedicated folks over at Persona Central, updates to the "P3RE.JP" domain in the last 24 hours indicate that an announcement could be imminent, with the smart money being on reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase in the coming days. Recall that the recent Persona 3 and Persona 4 remasters on console had some kind of exclusive deal with the Green Machine, so it tracks we could see it there.

Exciting news, if true. Been wanting to play Persona 3 but wasn't comfortable playing the old versions. This would be amazing! Wouldn't you agree, SW? Would you be a Persona 3 Remake?

I like turn based RPG's, but Persona is weird af, have never had the urge to buy any of them, so remastering these games does nothing for me.

There's supposed to be a new P5 spinoff and P6 news coming too, but I don't know if they're going to unveil those at the Xbox show as well. Regardless, I can't wait to play a modern version of P3, though it seems like the Answer and FemMC have been scrapped for the time being.

• No FeMC because of weird takes held by Katsura Hashino.

Glad I didn't buy the shit P3 release on PC. Remake needs to be a full FES on all systems. Haven't played P3 in years and years.

Speaking of graphics, both visually don't really look as good as P5R. Maybe the video quality is bad?

Looks like MS is willing to pay more to put these in Game Pass than Sony is willing to pay to keep them off Xbox. Glad Sega/Atlus has finally seen the light.

Anyhow, seems legit, then again the gaming world has ways of getting ahead of itself. But, we knew a Persona 3 Remaster/Remake was in the works, or murmerings at least. And a Game Pass deals seems consistent with Microsoft and Sega's working relationship. Sega seems to know how to increase their exposure lately, while Squeenix limits their big games to just one system and starts scratching their head when pre-orders are lower than expected. Other Japanese devs might want to take advantage of SE's shortsightedness while they can.

My fav Persona game gets remake! But idk without FeMC I am less interested in the game.

Will Persona 3 Reload include both the FES and P3P content? It's a pity there's still no definitive version of P3 to this day. All we need is a definitive version that combines FES and P3P content in a single package.

And the two new Thieves here should be in as well (or maybe just Sophie)

As for the alleged lack of FeMC of P3, his "reasoning" as to why made me really concerned. Let's just say... there is a reason I didn't cite my source for that one.

As a Persona fan who has bought the P3 remake this year the Reload has to be different enough for me to both buying it.

Persona 5 Royal had updated dungeons, 2 new characters and a new story arc. If it is just P3 Portable with prettier graphics then they can stick their game where the sun doesn't shine.

Add in the FES element Atlus or no sale.

@djoffer123: You could chose to play as a male protagonist or a female one which changed some of gameplay.

Atlus are certainly on a par with Square Enix (cough FF7 - even though I will buy Rebirth) at milking a set of characters to death.

It is weird to me that we’re getting another Persona 5 spin-off.

The cast is strong.

And Strikers was essential at taking the P5 story full circle.

Currently playing Persona 4 for the first time and really enjoying it. I want to try Persona 3 after that, but whether it is the original or a remake doesn't make much of a difference to me. Isn't Persona 3 reaĺly good as it is? I don't mind outdated graphics.

P3 needs an upgrade, but with P3P just being released, it makes this release kinda weird. I am curious if they are going back to P3+FES and getting rid of the female. I need to do some research on this.

I love me some Persona and would also like to see them go back to the first 2 games. Maybe even remake some SMT games for the current consoles.
