I have a PS3 and am about to buy a 360 but which system is better for multi platform games? Some people say the 360 for loading times and the PS3 versions are just bad ports but is this true and is there ever any difference between graphics

The majority of the multiplatform games are separated by negligible differences, in the few cases that there are sizable differences, the Xbox 360 versions are normally superior.

It varies game by game. most games are slightly better on 360 while some are quite a bit better. There are some games which are also better on PS3. For games which have little to no difference just go with the system with the controller you prefer or if you are a trophy/achievement whore go for whichever you prefer.

Final Fantasy 13 is the only multiplat I've heard of that's better on PS3. Get on 360 is the safest bet.

multiplats on both a roughly the same. I buy most of my multiplats on the 360 because I prefer the controller for most games and/or my friends are getting it on the 360 (multiplayer).

Anything before 2009, 360. Flip a coin for anything newer (minus FF13, Bayonetta).

Multiplats are the same, all the talk about 360 is better with multiplats is rumors.

Its like there are 3-4 games better on 360 and 3-4 games better running on PS3.

i own both, and ive looked extremely hard for differences, but both are almost exactly the same.. the PS3s are slightly more crisp, but its barely noticable.. theres a simple reason for this - games could very easily have better graphics on the PS3, but seeing as these are multiplat, the devs arent going to amp up just one version of their game, they make them evenly for both.. but when games are developed exclusovely for the PS3, the graphics can be mindblowing.. (Uncharted 2, killzone 2, GOW3, GT5 etc.. NONE of these would be possible on 360's hardware) so while the PS3 has the potential to be much better looking for its multiplats, devs just make them both the same normally...

to answer which u should buy them on, id say PS3, due to better HD (if u have HD TV), EVER-SO-SLIGHTLY crisper hraphics, much, much easier to use controller, and if ur playing online, its FREE and has a much bigger community than XBLA.. i realise i dragged on a bit, but i needed to get my points down :P

perhaps, but it doesnt take a genius to realise that the Xbox 360's specs are probably getting pushed pretty hard just to run these multiplatform games alone.. wheras the PS3 runs them without struggle

Lately, I've been buying multiplats for PS3 since I stopped paying for live. Previously, it was for whatever copy I could find on craigslist for the cheapest price.

Just get the 360 and read head to head articles... That will give you an idea on which one is better. 80% of the time it usually better on 360.

I buy multiplats on PS3 because I don't have to worry about buying new AA batteries to recharge my 360 controller or if I need to fork over some more dough to Microsoft to play the game online. The differences between the versions are rarely noticeable but since the 360's got such horrible exclusives lemmings pretend that multiplats are exclusive to compensate. Pretty obvious.

I would not sweat it too much. Just enjoy most on the system you prefer and trade up and buy a multiplat for the other every now and then. It's nice to give each system a little break by doing this.

dont buy 360...just get a good pc.

PC + PS3 + Wii = best combination if you dont have no interest of halo.

Free online or pay for online with a bit better service.

That's the question.

If you have both, then you got the exclusives covered on both fronts. Both perform almost exactly the same, so contrary to what fanboys say, it's negligible in that regard. So stick with my first statement if you even want to listen to my opinion.

In the past, there was a pretty sizable gap between PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of multiplats with the Xbox 360 versions being superior 90% of the time. Now, multiplats are more or less equal with negligible differences here and there and usually when there is a big enough difference the 360 version is superior.

I have a 360, PS3 and a PC (and a Wii but its been gathering dust for a while) The safest bet is wait for the reviews to come out. They will normally tell you if there is a difference in the platforms. If there are no noticeable differences then I normally get it for my 360 simply because most of my friends have the 360 and not a PS3.

bobbleheadrogue

And you like mandatory game installs.

I prefer the 360 controller and Xbox Live so I always get games on the 360. I can think of five games right now that the PS3 got the inferior version and only two where the 360 got the inferior version. Some of them are not a big deal while others are. I think if you have both you are better off getting them for the 360.

ok, most multiplats are crap, for the games that really matter (RE5, dragon age origins, sf4, MW2, every sports game, fighting game) it looks better on ps3

Dragon Age, sure, but all of the others you mentioned are either equal or better on the 360. :?
