I use it for Just Cause 2 and it makes the game look even better. For most games I just use a regular SMAA Injector so that they colors aren't change but I still get a good AA implementation.

So many games are about to get a lot better looking. All we need is people to make awesome profiles with this for each game.

Bascially it is a .dll that injects itself into the DX rendering pipeline on render.

Drop in the d3d9.dl. or dxgi.dll along with the accompanied .fx file into the root directory of a game file and it will load when the .exe is run. Then it applies itself based upon the settings set in theSweetFX_settings.txt.

You can tweak the hell out of the SweetFX_settings.txt to get different level of effects. Here's a list of the effect.

• SMAA Anti-aliasing : Anti-aliases the image using the SMAA technique - see http://www.iryoku.com/smaa/
• LumaSharpen : Sharpens the image, making details easier to see
• Bloom : Makes strong lights bleed their light into their surroundings
• HDR : Mimics an HDR tonemapped look
• Technicolor : Makes the image look like it was processed using a three-strip Technicolor process - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technicolor
• Cineon DPX : Makes the image look like it was converted from film to Cineon DPX. Can be used to create a "sunny" look.
• Lift Gamma Gain : Adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and highlights (avoids clipping)
• Tonemap : Adjust gamma, exposure, saturation, bleach and defog. (may cause clipping)
• Vibrance : Intelligently saturates (or desaturates if you use negative values) the pixels depending on their original saturation.
• Curves : Contrast adjustments using S-curves.
• Sepia : Sepia tones the image - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sepia_tone#Sepia_toning
• Vignette : Darkens the edges of the image to make it look more like it was shot with a camera lens. - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vignetting )
• Dither : Applies dithering to simulate more colors than your monitor can display. This lessens banding artifacts - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dithering#Digital_photography_and_image_processing )
• Splitscreen : Enables the before-and-after splitscreen comparison mode.

So yeah. It's safe. It's not a "hack" either as it doesn't do anything but changing the color settings in the renderer. Of course this *can* be used to bypass things like lighting that could effect multiplayer games, so it can be used to "cheat". But really it will be used to make games look even better and to apply the SMAA method to every game.

yeah it's great and every game I've used it on looks much clearer with it. dat sharpness helps a lot of games

I've been using it in GW2 for weeks, looks gorgeous because it removes that hiddeous blur. Also looks great on old stuff like rainbow six and swat 4...or any game you throw it at. Sleepign dogs looks fantastic with the vibrance option on

icenhancer looks like ass a lot of the time, its best for screenshots, not actual gameplay. I tried sweetfx in gta 4, its not bad, though it needs to be tweaked by the user to fit it right, since a lot of the default options ruin the image in GTA 4

Nnnno. It doesn't. The very best parts of UC3 look good (although it has plenty of bad spots as well). But, it's totally out of its league mixing it up with no-holds barred PC graphics (aka mods).

She wanted one in lieu of her consoles. It doesn't matter if she's jealous or not. In any case, the PC she has is powerful enough for the resolution she's gaming in.

She also found out that gaming PCs are also very well-suited for grunt work like Adobe suites (OpenGL-heavy, Stream, CUDA stuff) and other stuff.

Edit:

The opportunity cost of her (older) gaming PC was a brand new 360 Slim.
