Seen many Sony and a few PC fans rave about game post review, looks like they were on the mark. It's nice to have high quality games come out throughout the year.

this was free on ps4 for ps+ i got my fill of the game and im done with it an i spent no money on it

xbox one needs to join the 21 st century and picking up these nice lil multiplayer indie games for free like sony has been doing for its user base

Is it true the game is only a 9 for a couple of days, then you get bored? Ive heard people have already quit on it, how can you get bored of a game that fast? It looks fun, from what ive seen, not sure how can get boring.

Looks like a fun game, something different. As far as the 9 score from Gamespot, I'm fairly sure PC has gotten a steady stream of 9/10 games this year, on this site. Also, I read the review fairly quickly at work, but I don't seem to remember the reviewer making any mention of the online performance, and this is the kind of game I would mostly play online. I'm still reading reports that the servers are unstable online, so I was hoping a review from Gamespot would at least mention something about this. Zero mention in the review, so will have to read more reviews from other sites to find out, because we all know how users like to exaggerate stuff sometimes , trolling, etc. He mentions the AI sucks, but I'm more interested in playing this type of game against humans anyways.....it's like saying the AI sucks in a fighting game, that is not a negative for me.

Definitely a good move that this game is free for psn+ users.

How does this work? I thought PS+ had a annual fee? If so, does that mean the game is technically, "free?'

It works kinda like this, I give sony 50 dollars per year for less than a penny a day and i play free games like rocket league for entire year.

and then i get discounts and then i get free games and i get a online play

meanwhile pcmr is paying full price 20 dollars to play rocket league and adding up on all those other games an im beating them with just straight hardcore value bombs.

PC can't compete with the PS+ value situation this game is free on ps+ its 20 on steam and like thats just one game think about over 12 month period pc is dead in this situation period its dead.

If you pay $50 a year for a service....after so many games that you're not paying for....they start to be....free. After 2 games a month for $10 each....everything after is free.

Why would anyone pay for what we already have that is technically free? That's one of the dumbest things I've heard, there's countless free games on PC and the networks are all hosted by the platform owners, that of which we pay $0 for.

Lemmings? This applies to XBL as well, and they are technically rentals, you can't play them if you're not a PS+ or Gold member.

eg. Cost of Rocket League = $50 / 1 = $50

You don't seem to understand what free means, if you're paying $50 a year and that subscription needs to be active to play a game you download from the service, it's factored into the cost.

You're implying that these games are the saving grace of the subs. 99.99999% of these console users are going to want to play online...THATS why they buy these subs....not the games.

Christ this is dumb. You two are using different calculations that mean the same thing. Take six games that are $10 each to play, or can play them all at zero marginal cost with a $50 subscription.

mr_huggles_dog's calculation: $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 + $10 pays for the subscription, then the sixth game effectively costs $0 and is free
nyadc's calculation: $10 total savings = $1.67 savings per game = discount

You can interpret it either way it doesn't matter.

There's only one way to interpret it, the games cost a percentage of the subscription fee for the life of its term. He's just trying to rationalize value and the coined term free, I'm rationalizing the actual cost, which there is one for every piece of content you get from that service.

You're paying for these free games, there's literally no other way to look at it.

Never understood why people defend the PS+ structure... Instead of praising of how you may get "free" games why don't they complain about how it's needed to play online...

I just showed you there's more than one way to interpret it. Let me repeat it:

Interpretation 1 (your interpretation): The cost per game under a subscription is subscription fee divided by number of games played. In other words, the per-game savings is the regular cost of that game minus the subscription cost.

Interpretation 2 (his interpretation): You agree to pay an amount in advance to a company to cover future purchases. You then make purchases from the company under the payment structure: 1) if the total purchases are less than the subscription fee, the company keeps the difference; 2) any purchases made in excess of the subscription fee have no charge (ie are "free")

But what matters in the end is total savings, not whether the games are "free" or "discounted".
