Overwatch Open Beta Starts This Week; Early Access Starts Today

The open beta for Blizzard's upcoming FPS starts this week. If you have preordered the game, you can have early access to the open beta starting today

Both waves of the beta will go live in all regions at the same time. The early access play period begins on May 2 at 4 PM PST, while the open beta starts at the same time on May 4.

And the beta seems to be showing off quite a bit of content

• All 21 heroes
• Quick Play, Play vs. AI, Custom Game, and Weekly Brawl modes
• Tutorial, Practice Range, and Practive vs. AI
• 12 maps and 4 multiplayer modes
  • Assault: Hanamura, Temple of Anubis, and Volskaya Industries
  • Escort: Dorado, Route 66, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar
  • Assault/Escort Hybrid: Hollywood, King's Row, and Numbani
  • Control: Ilios, Lijiang Tower, and Nepal

The open beta will be available for X1, PS4, and PC

The PC reqs are below, however they've stated that the download is 6.5GB on PC and 11GB on console

Minimum (targeting 30fps):

• Operating system: Windows® 7/Windows®8 /Windows®10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
• Processor: Intel® Core™ i3 or AMD Phenom™ X3 8650
• Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460, ATI Radeon™ HD 4850, or Intel® HD Graphics 4400

• Storage: 30 GB available hard drive space

so they're pretty much letting us see what the whole game has to offer for free. That alone shows just how confided they are in this game selling

I'm enjoying it so far. I think I may have to buy this now lol. I know there's comparisons but I choose this over Battleborn.

Man, this game is so good. Played a few rounds on xbix. It looks like it's gonna have the same problems Rainbow Six had. Not a lot of content at launch. Unlike RB6 though this game is highly polished and has a ton of style

This game is really really fucking good but I hope they have plans to add content later. Especially characters and game modes

Can't wait to try this. Probably the only game I'm considering buying until FFXV.

I'm liking it a lot. It plays a lot like TF2. Sadly it won't have the mod support.

I don't think it needs more heroes for now. 21 is a lot to learn and on-the-fly switch between already.
