Hey there System Wars, the time has come for the official hype and all things Mass Effect 3 thread. IronBass has come to a very busy work time, so he's asked me to faciliate his thread. And what a job he's done on it.

Now while we normally jump into the hype poll with these things, there's still a good deal of time before launch, so I figure we could do a few various topic threads (how ever many I can come up with), and as we get closer to the demo releasing on Feb 14, then we'll talk hype.

And now, dicsussion is open :D :D

I'm really excited to finally finish the trilogy.

For the gameplay features

• Sweet, more customization is nice
• Nice, lets hope the game is actually a challenge this time, unlike ME2
• Combat speed increased in what way?
• Looks like an improvement to the action elements. After all, Mass Effect is an action game.
• Not sure if I like this
• Improved AI is nice, the AI in Mass Effect 2 was horrible
• Woohoo!!! But what will the limit be? And what will it be based on? Number of weapons or weight?
• Weapon customizability is nice, so a step up from Mass Effect 2 to ME1 levels. Materials? Not sure if I am happy about that.
• More tactics? Sweet

For the Mass Effect fans out there, there are going to be Mass Effect 3 action figures. These will also come with a code for randomized exclusive DLC for the Multiplayer mode.

While I greatly enjoyed ME games untill now,Im skeptical about ME3 due to many EA decisions.For example,Im worried that the game will be turned into just another TPS,ignoring all things that made previous ME games great experiences.It's no big secret EA is streamlining all their games to be more apprealing to wider audiences(CoD crowd),and often that doesn't attract them,only dissapoints loyal fanbases of those franchises.Im worried ME3 may take that route,if you played ME2 Arrival DLC,you probably noticed how "ordinary" ME games feel when they're just about shooting with limited context.Stuff like forced Origin crap(PC version) and those "action" toys containing DLC that were just announced simply don't sound good.I disagree with including MP too,due to various reasons...

But I hope I will be proven wrong,Im looking forward to ME3,and hoping for the best.I want Shepard's trilogy to end with a BANG!

EDIT:As for my characters,first playthrough goes with male paragon Shep,ME1&2 saves imported.

Then I will give my renegade fem Shep a go...

As far as this HYPE thread, while it's fine, it's not as good as the last ME3 HYPE thread, honestly. Anyone can look at the effort and work of both threads and clearly see. I don't understand what the whole big deal was now that it's here. Not sure why this is official and another one isn't, other than someone called dibs with a few of their buddies who happens to be a moderators. I expected this thread to be a HYPE thread killer with how that last thread was dismissed. It's still a nice thread, so kudos to the OP for bringing us sweet ME3 information, but the expectations for this ME3 thread were quite high after seeing that scandal go down last month.

Either way, starting up some sort of new "calling dibs for official threads" trend in System Wars using moderation powers, it's like you guys want people to just quit Gamespot.com and go elsewhere. Gamespot.com of course, begs to differ, and in fact is trying to gain users, so you guys are just working against the grain here.

You should be trying to give users a good experience here at the website, not a foul one. It's like part of the community/moderators are actively discouraging future positive contributions from the System Wars community. i know if I spent hours working on a HYPE thread, and then afterwords I was told my work is no good, I wouldn't bother again. I just don't understand the mentality of discouraging making Gamespot.com a better place. I do understand nepotism, but I would love to think that community leaders would be above that sort of thing...but time and time again, I get disheartened with poor examples made obvious.

There was, but Ironbass had put in a reserve on the official hype thread with the mods, which as you can see he put in a lot of planning and time into. Musicalmac allowed that other one to operate as an UNofficial thread, but now the official one is in place.

Somewhere in the 8 range probably, but I think the reason for the score will be the standard being higher. Mass Effect 3 will probably the best Mass Effect as it does contain more rpg elements with more customization and improved combat of Mass Effect 2.

Anyway, I think it will get a 9.0. I just recently finally played ME2 - male paragon.

I think Wesreck's thread should be made into the official disscusion thread if the game flops (ala Flopza 4).

Kevin VanOrd said they plan to be less generous with handing out the 9's and 10's this year. Might be a 9, could very well be a 8.5.
