Glad I was able to enjoy the original before they killed it needless to say my next VR headset wouldn't be a Oculus this is one of the dumbest decisions ever Facebook is trash.

aren't some games Oculus exclusives? seems like a smart thing to do with something as niche as vr! arguably much worse than egs exclusives. wonder if people are modding this artificial restriction out or if it's possible?
This is bad news. VR is still very niche, it needs to be an open platform.
Not too worried, though; I've got my Valve Index and use it on a pro-consumer, privately-owned platform of Steam. Had a Rift originally (that reminds me, I need to sell it) but only bought like three or four games, so I don't feel like if I don't use it I am wasting anything.
Didn't Facebook buy Oculus?
A while ago, yes. I remember there was similar outrage when Palmer Lucky (?) sold it to Facebook back then. Guess it was well placed concern, because what people feared is coming true.

Literally the worst idea you can do when something is niche. You need more people to buy VR products, not less.
Forcing people into a walled garden, limiting their options, is only going to turn people away. I don't think your average non-gaming Facebook user is going to care about this, so it's not like they are appealing to a broader market by doing this.
Ah well, more people for Steam. Last time I checked Valve allows just about every VR device on Steam :D
I have no experience with VR, but FB are a nightmare of a platform for a multitude of reasons. It's best for people to opt for other VR options, which would likely be better.
I had the quest but got rid of it for a couple reason
1. Didn't play it as much as I expected to
2. Wearing it kind of gave me vertigo
That said, why dont people just create a fake FB profile to use on their Oculus system

You could create a fake profile, but tying in a headset to a profile is beyond moronic. With a game launcher is bad enough, but a piece of hardware is insane. We gave up MySpace for FB, and boy was that a sad trade-off.
yeah it was.. I am rewatching it on Netflix right now
I miss English comedies, so I just watched Man Down and am currently watching Cuckoo. There are certain American things I love to watch, but since moving to Canada, I really miss some of the British humour.

It Crowd is on Canadian Netflix (that is how I am watching :D )
Never saw Man Down, I will have to check that one out

I'll go and do a rewatch of IT at some point. Man Down and Cuckoo is Greg Davies (comedian) and he's damn funny. I was liking Cuckoo less, but it became pretty damn hilarious.
