October will mark two years without an Xbox NPD victory

The two year anniversary is near! I remember it so clearly. The Xbox One S launched in August 2016, and MS saw it's best streak yet. Four months in a row. Even though WW sales were a wash, things were looking up for Xbox in the US, and Aaron Greenberg couldn't wait to tell us. Sony ponies were salty as it seemed like the brand was on the comeback on home turf.

But it was short lived. A good chunk of the XBOS' sales were re-buys. Sony dropped the Pro, then the Switch came a few months after. NPD glory completely fell out of Microsoft's grasp even with the launch of the X, and it doesn't look like it's possible to get it back until next gen. What should MS do to get some of that sweet NPD swag back? Or should they not do anything? Hell, I guess morale has been low for so long in the Xbox camp that it shouldn't even matter anymore.

This thread would mark the 2 hours before the next Xbox thread by a Sony fanny. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Doubled sales over last year...the thing has done pretty well considering the distaster pre-launch and the so called no games nonsense.
