To start building a present in China, Nintendo has teamed up w/Nvidia to allow Wii titles such as Super Mario Galaxy, Punch-out, and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to be release on the Nvidia Shield.

This is very good news! Which means that Wii titles are able to run on the Tegra X1, which also means GC support may come next year! Nintendo gonna have an interesting 2018 when they announce their Netflix-like service for the Switch.

Not really, this is in China only, not globally! Plus the Shield runs on an X1 so it makes sense.

The Shield system will launch in China for ~$225 and each game will cost ~$10.

That's awesome. It would be cool if these titles also came to the West, and maybe branched out to include official PC releases. Everyone should at least try Super Mario Galaxy!

@ArchoNils2: I'm wondering that too. How popular is NVidia Shield in China?

This is interesting, won't the Nvidia shield have an impact on Switch sales in China though?

@NoodleFighter: I think what Nintendo are trying to do is raise awareness of their games by using popular platforms in China. At least, that's what I assume they are doing. I don't know if NVidia Shield is popular in China or not, but I do know it's the intentions Nintendo have with their mobile games such as Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, Super Mario Run and Pokemon Go.

They want people to play these games, or older Wii titles like Super Mario Galaxy then say "Oh I'd love to play more. Maybe I'll get a Switch so I can try another Mario game like Mario Odyssey". That's what I believe their goal is, at least...

If they are making a push for China, I wonder if the Nintendo Switch will eventually support WeChat in China too.

I'd rather try Xenoblade Chronicle Series, Bayonetta 2 over Mario lol.

@indzman: In my opinion, Super Mario Galaxy is more fun than the two Xenoblade games I have played. Bayonetta 2 is excellent though.

All the same, Super Mario Galaxy is excellent. The sequel is even better.

Keep in mind, China doesn't like Japan, some still hold a grudge after WW2, so I can some kind of barrier for Switch doing well over there despite PS4 is also a Japanese machine.

I didn't think of that. It explains a lot. I wonder if Microsoft could have a better shot in China.

Might be regionally locked. Like Netflix.

Heard of VPN's? I pay for Australian Netflix, but I use the US/UK more often.
