@chriscoolguy: It’s both in the new driver and a game update.

@Juub1990: is this something that is only noticible in 4k? Would it make a difference in 1080p 1440p?

Does this do anything for current RTX cardslike 2060 2070 2080?

Yes. Only RTX cards support this feature.

This looks awesome but this is only coming out to certain games? Will this work for 1440p as well? I know DLSS 1.0 only worked on 4K displays.

The latest drivers enable it but the game needs to support it. The good news is DLSS is no longer "per app" training so the devs just need to do a small amount of work on their side for it to work unlike before.

RTX cards all eat 1080p for breakfast so no idea why you'd even need it. It makes a difference in 1440p and above. Still it works and improves frame rates, yes.

@DragonfireXZ95: Yeah, I'm starting to believe more and more in DLSS and RT. I will buy a next gen Nvidia RTX card, probably a 3070 or 3080, depending on the prices.

Or you can just get a loan from the Bank.

Robbing banks isn't as fun as it used to be😔

A loan? Isn't that illegal?

I don't think I've ever taken a loan. They're too expensive. I'll find some other ways.

It's pretty damn crisp. You can't even tell DLSS is on. Check it out.

Unfortunately, the dev has to implement it, so only Control, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Mechwarrior, and Deliver Us to the Moon support it so far.

Hopefully it comes to more games very soon.

Barely started it yet, so can't really comment on it.

So I updated the game and my drivers, DLSS 2.0 works AMAZING in Control.. Sometimes. Problem is the game is still broken, still half the time I play textures don't load and it looks like a blurry mess.

Don't worry PS5 will eliminate all of those last gen PC issues you mention here.

PS5 will usher in the next gen and do away with last gen issues like texture loading problems, texture pop-in and streaming delays.

Next gen starts when Sony says it does.

Thank you Sony!

@boxrekt:

Can't wait. I bought a $500 card and have the levels look like N64 textures. Everything looked great until I got to the coolant pumps level.

Someone on Reddit told me to set texture res to medium instead of ultra. It fixed it.

I'll stick to native resolution.

It looks over sharpened, to me... I spend 3-4 hours a day editing photo's and instantly saw the characteristics found in over sharpening to compensate for resolution or lens softness. It usually is very noticeable when there is a heavy contrast.

@DragonfireXZ95 said:

If you look at the clock on both pictures you will see this and the two lamps with the items.

While its a improvement... It's not for me, I will stick to native resolution and or lower settings with my 2080 Ti and when the 3080 Ti comes out ill just get that.

Call me when DLSS 3.0 comes out.

I'm all about it. Even if it has a little of an oversharpened look. I'll take that to get better framerates and the RTX effects any day.

@Grey_Eyed_Elf: Try it in other games. Control is a blurry mess even at native res.

Just messed around with Control update a bit. I'm playing on maxed settings in 1440p and with the previous DLSS, I was generally around 60-80fps depending on area and if in combat. With DLSS 2.0, I'm using quality mode which is the same rendering resolution as the previous version. Unfortunately, there is no performance increase, (though it was to be expected since it's rendering at the exact same resolution) but image quality has definitely improved with the image sharpening effect. I think Remedy also made some improvements to Jesse, mostly in that she actually emotes a bit when in combat. (rather than staying stone faced the entire time) That said, I don't know when I'll play The Foundation DLC. I hope that Metro: Exodus gets less 2.0 because it needs it.

In Control, it can look a bit better than native resolution at times. Other times it doesn't. And it's possible to see some of the processing here & there if you pay attention to certain places. Mechwarrior 5 seems to be a huge improvement though.

I do hope to see it in Monster Hunter World. But I highly doubt most developers are going to update their already released games to support DLSS 2.0, even if they are still receiving regular updates.

That might be because I use a sharpening filter ala freestyle filters :P
