The game LOOKS and mostly importantly RUNS better with DLSS than native image. Either NVIDIA sacrificed thousands of virgins to the graphics gods or their witch doctors found the secrets to the fabrics of reality.
@Juub1990: PC master race's machine learning pixel reconstruction. LOL
RTX/DXR needs machine learning denoise pass, hence machine learning is also inherent in RDNA 2 hardware

Anyway, I'm waiting for RTX 3080 Ti.
I'll be replaying Control very soon cause it's still my #1 game of 2019 and my RTX 2070 can run this game in high settings. I'll see what the fuss is about DLSS 2.0.
By the way Juub, you know Ron is gonna drive you crazy over this. Get ready....oh never mind.
@davillain-: I'm wondering if DLSS causes blurring, like other upscaling techniques.
I finish the game late September, I did use DLSS but I barely experience the blurr but nothing to distracting. I'll report back later when I reinstall the game.

Sorry, off topic but... Hey you Pee Salty Seas lol I kid.
My laptop is older than dirt and thinking of buying a new one for work at home.
What do you think of the following for about 8 bills out the door? Thanks in advance...

Been out of PC gaming for a minute, will this help out my 980 TI?
@R4gn4r0k: Not anymore. It looks more crisp than native res in Control. DLSS 2.0 is dope.
@davillain-: Plays great now and RTX is viable.
Even in motion?
Something like TAA for example looks great in a still picture, but it's horrible in motion.
If so than DLSS 2.0 could be a god send. Rendering games at 4K is really stressing on the hardware.
@R4gn4r0k:
Thanks, I'm not really buying it for gaming but figured if I'm going to buy a new laptop for work at home and since I still play games I may as well get something like a gaming laptop anyway. lol

Nope. Read https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/news/nvidia-dlss-your-questions-answered/
For NVIDIA GPUs, DLSS feature needs RTX Tensor cores.
@Juub1990:
Love my Xbox one x
4k,HDR,and games like RDR2 (called pristine by experts at digital foundry) and gamepass ,uhd player and kodi app for movies and live sport
Yea I’m fine with all that for a machine you can buy for £200
You didn’t just shoot yourself in the foot,you blew your own f#%king leg off

The best work laptop imho is the 15" Surface 3 laptop. It's just made to be an excellent laptop that's easy to work on.
But 17" is great if you don't want to hook up an external screen, say for gaming, and if you are going work long hours behind the laptop screen.
I'd advise you to open up a new thread about the L340 if you are interested over on https://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-linux-society-1000004/on the gamespot forums :)
@R4gn4r0k:
Thanks a bunch my friend. I'm at the moment on the fence whether I should buy now as IMO, after giving it more thought, I don't see this work from home lasting very long (I'm now still working out of the company office) and rather than waste peoples time, until I'm sure I'm buying I'll sit tight for now but thanks again for your thoughtful input. :)

That's cool, how are games running on your series X though?

Always a pleasure, dude!
Yeah I'm in this weird situation too. My work still requires me to come to the office, and there aren't a lot of people left over here. but still keeping 1 and a half meters of distance is pretty much impossible. And I'd feel a lot safer working from home.
If you do decide to work from home, tell them you'll need a Lenovo Legion, and nothing less ;)

You brought zero value to the discussion. This is system wars, NOT limited to PC only topics.
@fedor:
About the same as the first time I was asked,but I’d thought I’d share what my actual gaming machine’s capabilities.
Stupid question gets asked twice,Thick as pig shit HAH,ask me when it’s out and I’ll tell you
Meanwhile another hermit(op) posts a thread about next gen consoles

Another loss kid HAH,but keep the stupid questions coming,I’m bored on lockdown

how long will it take you to find an insult to copy-paste?
Meh they should have done this in the beginning. Imo, it looks like they've just use DLSS with Nvidia sharpness filter. When I used the original DLSS I always used the sharpness filter to reduce/get rid of the blur.
Was bound to happen, only a matter of time. ML algorithms need huge amounts of data and time to improve accuracy. One thing to know if a model is trained per game or or universal. If it's per game then you will be waiting a long time to see results like these.

It definitely had some blur, but it improved framerate by like 40% and it still looked unreal with ray tracing. Going to try this update in a bit. They need to update Metro Exodus, because that badly needs a performance boost and fire looked like garbage with DLSS on before.

Sorry for a dumb question but is DLS 2.0 in the new Nvidia driver or an update in the game its self?
Sorry for a dumb question but is DLS 2.0 in the new Nvidia driver or an update in the game its self?
The latest drivers will always have the latest version of Nvidia tech, but the games have to be updated to support it as well. So, old games that used DLSS before need to be patched in order to take advantage of DLSS 2.0. However, they will still work with the older and inferior version of DLSS if they do not receive a patch.
