Poll No Mans Sky NEXT launches NEXT week. Will you give it another change. Now multiplatform and mulitplayer (55 votes)

Yes 49%
No 45%
other 5%

The launch of NMS was a real clusterfuck of epic proportions.

To be fair Hello Games did over promised and under delivered, but they have spent 2 years 'finishing' it and it's looking pretty good in my opinion.

Sure, why not. I have it on the Pro, but I might pick it up on the X for the extra performance.

I doubt it.

I find Space Engineers, Empyrion Galaxic Survival, Planet Nomands and Dual Universe to be more intresting and as such my docket is full

I'll give it another shot maybe when it is on sale and/or I am not buried in more appealing things to play.

I never played it before. This doesn't look too bad. It's good to see that the team stayed dedicated despite all the backlash but transparency from the get-go really would have went a long way.

I'll give it a go. I'd love to have some PC gamers interested in trying it with me.

I'm glad they kept working on this game, so I will check it out. On the other hand, shut your mouth next time if you can't deliver and tell Sony to stop hyping your shit to high heavens.

just to repeat what i said in hopes of sparking a debate (no not actually the latter)

as a PC gamer I find Space Engineers, Empyrion Galaxic Survival, Planet Nomands and Dual Universe more interesting. I also like the concept of Stationers but it looks too hard and I dont care much for the art style

@tryit: Yeah they do or at least more robust. Rather unrelated but I've backed a game on Kickstarter called Starmancer which is a Dwarf Fortress inspired space simulation game. That also looks more my style.

I guess it's more the drama of No Man's Sky that makes me curious. It was a game that has such a poor reputation. I am interested to see if subsequent updates have helped it improve upon that reputation.

It was Sony hyping it so much and when they're paying the bills, you don't get to tell them stop.

NMS has been a good game for quite some time at this point. If you can look past the scandal of its release and first few months of life, it turned out to be a well-crafted game that they support incredibly well after they released it, and I doubt they see much profit from it at this point, if any.

They obviously care enough about the game to craft it into what they promised on their own time and dime, which is a rare thing these days; I don't think they deserve to be rewarded--a crappy release is a crappy release--but they deserve to be respected for that.

It's already a hugely different game than it was on release. It doesn't excuse the launch issues, but I've always enjoyed it to some degree and it's definitely become a lot better. IMO if you own a copy, but refuse to try it again, it's your loss. Why not spend a little time on it first before shouting "NO! I'm BORED with it now!!!" Worst case scenario, you still find the game you already paid for boring. Not really any further loss except a wee bit of time

@jumpaction: It dependes of what you want in a game. NMS was always more of less what i expected it to be: a slow paced exploration space game.

Now it's much more than that. We have base building, ground vehicles, freighters, creative, survival and permadeath modes, a 30+ hour campaign, random side missions, etc, etc. Next week multiplayer, third person view and more.

The game will never be for everyone, but for me this game is a life time dream come true.

@jumpaction: Base building has been in the game for almost 2 years. It has improved alot since then, and apparently Next will offer endeless coop building. Not sure what that means exactly, but sounds amazing.

@boycie: I been playing NMS for 2 years straight and still enjoying the hell out of it, I put in like 500 hours by now. It's a very different game now then it was on launch, I'm sooo excited for NEXT Update. MP on the other hand wasn't on my mind and it still isn't.

I'm one of the few here who actually enjoys the game for what it was. Can't vote because I wasn't one of the butthurt gamers about it.

It seems like they’ve made some significant changes and additions to it and while I am somewhat interested in the game I doubt if I’ll get around to it anytime soon as I have plenty on my plate for the foreseeable future.

@PAL360: IGN suggest that it means you can build on any planet you like? Does that make sense?

Same here. It's nice to see someone really likes MNS. I may had a rocky start, but each update made the game more and more impressive, Hello Games really work hard and it paid off. The problem with NMS was Sean Murray's big mouth.

Because it's a fun game :) I mean, all I really did was pay full price and I'm getting updates free anyways.

But I will say what really puts the icing on the cake is the going-in & leaving the planet. Traveling through Space & going into hyperspace is what makes the game awesome and most of all, it's a nice relaxing game.

The only reason why it get's bad rep is that idiot Sean Murray running his mouth.

I'm not really into the whole base building thing for the game, but I have seen what others have enjoyed doing. I probably put about 30 hours into the game over the past 2 months after having not played it for over a year. Some of the additions to the game I like, others I'm adjusting to.

I hear it's getting a true multiplayer adaption added in - if that's the case, I'm curious as to how it will actually function to see if it will be a worthwhile game for my younger brother to pickup so we can do some co-op stuff. Exploring the different worlds can be fun, but sometimes overly tedious at times due to massive weather swings or simply during the early gameplay, you're limited storage space and the chore it becomes finding inventory expansions pods.

Hopefully this helps open up the game to more people.

Definitely giving it another go next week. I've been purposefully staying away from the game and the incremental updates because I wanted to get the full effect of what the game was meant to be. It looks like this is the update to pull me off the fence. Playing on Steam.

@Gatygun: If what you mean by “scam artist “ is someone working tirelessly on their highly ambitious dream project labor of love and giving us continual free updates with seemingly no end of them in sight, well then it’s not too difficult to see how people are still supporting him. Especially considering the embarrassing way the toxic gaming community treated them.
