No Halo 6 At E3, But 343 Industries Has 'Something'

Halo developer 343 Industries has confirmed the next mainline entry in Microsoft's sci-fi shooter series won't be at E3 2017.

In a post on reddit, 343 community manager Brian Jarrard (aka sk7ch343) tempered fans' expectations for this year's expo, saying that while the studio will have something at E3, it won't be tied to Halo 6.

"I'll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We've said this already but we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise," Jarrard said.

Halo Wars 2 DLC maybe?

Got my xbox after Christmas with Halo 5. Maybe I should take it out of the shrink wrap sometime. lol

Dare I say they're working on a new IP? Probably not but I'm sure they're all tired of making Halo games.

Well, as Phil has said, we won't see a Halo "FPS" in 2017. So no doubt we will get something Halo related.

"It's going to be an interesting year for us because we don't have Gears, we don't have a Halo first-person shooter game."

Halo Wars 2 DLC "Colony" was delayed back in April due to a game breaking bug. Not sure if it made it out yet.

Even though Phil has said(earlier this year) that this is NOT the year for Halo and Gears, fannies have continued to claim that it is. Funny, how they are now missing in action.

Something related to Halo 5. The MP for that game has garnered quite a bit of interest, cos it's actually damn decent. I kinda wanted Halo 6, because i've always enjoyed the SP campaigns, but i'm sure it won't kill me to wait.

Halfways expecting Halo 5 story DLC plus news on splitscreen being added to the game on Scorpio consoles. Then I'm brought back to reality and realize I'm no good at predictions.

@zassimick: I like the sound of that though. That would give me a legit reason to get scorpio. Maybe give us a separate story like ODST was and include some bosses other than warden. Which I assume shouldn't be too much of a chore since they can use those other new warzone bosses.

Yeah I was thinking something similar... not likely, but you never know. An ODST-like spin-off would be amazing!

Indeed. In fact, 343i is better than Bungie ever was. I enjoyed Bungie at the time though. Destiny and Activision put them in the shitter though. Now they are done.

Interesting. Would have loved to have seen a Halo 6 teaser but I guess this will do for now. I don't think that it's anything too big like a new game or anything. Most likely it'll be dlc for Halo Wars 2 or perhaps dlc for Halo 5. I'd be happy with either/or.

I'd be very happy with that happening but I'm doubtful.

or, I'd accept Halo Reach add-on to the Halo MCC to make it a complete package, or maybe new multiplayer modes to Halo 5, I still need to get into the new Firefight, haven't touched that yet

I think they'll show off Halo 5: Guardians running native 4K/60fps on Scorpio.. they may also announce Halo 5 coming to Windows 10 PC beyond just the Forge stuff..

343 could easily make 2 IP's they have enough staff. Will Microsoft allow them to? Same with Coalition.

Phil mention that there wouldn't be any Halo 6 details or showing a few months back. I'm surprise everyone here thought MS was gonna show Halo 6!

And that's all the team has really done to my knowledge, work on Halo. 343 seems to be a pretty talented studio I'm sure they'd do a something new well and it would help them step out of Bungie's shadow

I'm surprised by this. Halo has always shown at the E3 prior to the year it's released. Every time.

2018 is too early for Gears 5... does this mean next year won't have a Halo or Gears title at all?

Hopefully they'll do a remaster for MCC... 4k/60 and up the textures. That'd be awesome.
