Nioh - New PS4 Pro Gameplay oh YEAH!

I like the things they are saying (not that I am surprised but to hear media types verbalize these aspects is surprising) since is shows even casual fans could appreciate the game's layers of gameplay.

Like I have said before from playing the Demo, this is the only thing I have played since 2009 that has close to giving me that unrivaled sense of satisfaction that I got when I first experienced Demon's Souls gameplay the GOAT of last generation...and this was just from the Nioh demo.

Is regular ass PS4 version going to still have the 60 frames option? Because I was pretty into that demo. It came off a bit much in certain spots, but I'm still curious to see the game sustain these systems over the course of an entire game.

@jg4xchamp: Yeah the action mode on the base PS4 is supposed to stay locked at 60.

Gimme 60fps without the gross-ass visuals on the Pro, and i'll be happy.

Looks like a OK 'Souls game.

I played the demo for longer than I played any other game this year with the exception of some online multiplayer shooters. So I feel that I should buy it out of respect, and I will gladly take the rest of the game that comes with it :P

I loved the alpha and beta even more but the nighttime visuals were a disappointment, nonetheless I am looking forward to this game.

My type of game. I love Ninja Gaiden and Onimusha, this looks like a child of both games.

Those new weapons look great. I really want this game asap.

Now *this* is a game to by hyped for.

I also played it almost exclusively when it was open. If that was just a taste of what's to come, then this game is already going to be great.

@the_master_race: Sony recently took over the publishing rights so probably never. Looks like they don't want another Demon's Souls situation.

I'm interested, but is probably last on my list of exclusiveach for early 2017. Probably still day one though. That is how stacked Sony's first 4 months are.

Dark souls with a new skin. Looks boring and tedious just like Souls series.

Tho I will say I put mad hours into my fighters, but other than that the Nioh DEMO beat out most any other game for me.

If you have played the Demo the first thing you notice is it's Souls inspiration....but the second thing you notice is it has a COMPLETELY different feel and tone that is all it's own.

lol there is no way me as well is other critical gamers with similar tastes would be so attracted to this title if it was simply a wanna be as you put. It's it's own thing and if you didn't recognize that then you probably didn't really play enough of the demo or you failed to grasp to fully grasp the fantastic original gameplay mechanics which, although great, are a vast departure from the souls games.

It must not be on the X1.

To add to those who didn't knew, this game will be roughly 70h long! You won't find any shitty 4-8h long campaign here.

To elaborate further on Nioh Vs Souls:

"The combat in Nioh has way more depth. pretty complex. much smoother. stamina management is huge, the way you dodge is different and you cant just roll through every attack. the different stances and move sets with each stance, combos and skills you can unlock for each stance it's more enjoyable. the use of range weapons, bombs, magic, the living weapon special through your guardian spirit.

It definitely takes some things from the souls series but the more you play it the more different it feels. love souls games but definitely not just a rip off. some things souls does better, and some things Nioh does better. the things it takes from the souls games fit well, and I'm glad they did it. buy it, don't buy it.... but don't be a hater and call it simply a rip off unless you REALLY played the demos or somehow the finished game."

Taken courtesy of Aidan Schmitt a youtuber who got pretty much the same reply from a passer by trying to make a snap judgement on Nioh off first glance and I pretty much agree with everything written.

Looks like something I'd enjoy. 60 fps is something the souls games should really be aiming for too.

I think a lot of cows are only interested in this game because it's a PS4/PC "exclusive." if it was also on X1, we'd hear nothing from this game.

It's one of the titles that may persuade me to re-purchase a PS4, but I will be waiting for reviews. Until the game is fully released and reviewed, for all way know it could be an inconsistent experience with later segments poorly completed.

This is such a rip off of Dark Souls lol except it doesn't have the same environmental variety. Maps look quite drab Imo, no epic vistas. I don't know about lore but it doesn't look like it will have the same quality as Dark Soul's either. Solid combat though.

Conclusion: will see. Will wait for reviews first.

Fanboys said the same thing about Demon's Souls before the AAA review and the GOTY and then the other Souls games came out and that tune changed. If you hadn't noticed a LOT of the posters in the thread expressing hype for this are not anything remotely close to what you'd call "cows" but yeah sure...just cows, cows cow.

You don't have to be a "cow" to express hype for a good looking upcoming title...you just have to be a gamer.

this game is far from being one of those. and its not on pc, so yes, it is a ps4 EXCLUSIVE.

Team Ninja was an indie developer with 10 people working on a procedurally generated game all along.

Played the demo, was ok, fun for a bit.

Felt too much like Dark Souls without the creative enemies and immersive world.

Will play at some point im sure.

Looks great. It's good to see that Team Ninja is able to get on fine without Itagaki. I know there were some doubts about whether they could get on without him in past because of Ninja Gaiden 3, which I never played, but I'm probably among the few that actually really liked what they did for Metroid Other M. I mean, sure there were some silly design choices in the story particularly, but that mostly stems from Nintendo's end on their control over the story. I was actually totally fine with the gameplay side of things, it plays just like a Metroid game and looks great, and the controls weren't nearly as bad as people made them out to be, nor was the story as intolerable as people claimed. I wish people didn't have such a huge stick up their ass about it because Nintendo probably would have been fine working with Team Ninja on more sequels had people not collectively lost their shit over it for petty reasons. Anyhow, Nioh starting to shape up to look nice. Without a doubt shaping up to look like a must have for the PS4. I must admit, the sound of the challenge is kind of intimidating. I hope it shapes up to be a nice challenge but not to the point of alienating gamers from appreciating it. Dark Souls series for instance wasn't something I could instantly appreciate, it very much an acquired taste, so hopefully I'm prepared somewhat for a game like this.. I especially like the Japanese look and design and setting of it all. Dark Souls was great but had an almost too familiar western medieval fantasy flavor to it.

Anyhow, curious, will this have an online component like Dark Souls? Or be similar in style but offline, like Lords of the Fallen?

PC cucks will probably never see this game. Sony took over the publishing for a reason. They don't want a repeat of Demon's Souls.

That looks amazing and the butthurt of lems here is amazing which makes the game even more amazing.

No Man's Buy dev didn't release two demos for the sole purpose of getting the fans feedback. This game has received a f*ckton of changes because of that. This dev is actually trying to build a quality title, not shitting some Souls copy pasta.

It has 2 player coop, no pvp. There are over 100 side missions that you can do in coop with scalable difficulty so a ton of replayablity.

Let it Die is giving my Dark Souls fix so I'll pass.
