This is beyond pathetic. I'd be less offended if they just neglected to add any new games at all. Better than nothing does not apply here.

There's only been like 5 games on there worth a damn for years. Nintendo's VC selection on Switch is terrible, indeed.

@lamprey263: Decided to try with one year? lol. Bad move. Should've listened to me shitting on the service for years or get a month. :P

Only reason I have online is that I'm in a family plan where 8 people share the cost, making it cheap as hell. Also play some games with friends sometimes..

Yeah, I'm probably going to cancel at this point. This is a good example of how bad the paid online-with-some-goodies model can be. GP has a major thing going for it in that the games are what sell it - if those start to suck too bad the service dies. But the paid online services can suck hard and - if you're an online gamer - you feel compelled to pony up anyway

Yeaaaah, this isn't gonna get me to renew. There's better stuff that could be added besides games like this -_-

I forgot the cancel at the beginning of the year. This just reminded me. What a full blown travesty Nintendo Online has become. It's crazy because their VC service could be amazing. They have they power to make it amazing. They just do what they always do, throw crumbs around and move on.

Nintendo sure loves and respects it's fanbase. This is further proof that they really don't take them for granted one bit.. Nope.. not...at all.. Total respect..

This decision to add these three games seems totally in line with Nintendo.

It is the embodiment of Nintendo decision making.

I don't understand it, but I am in no way surprised by it.

They won't add any good games because they can just resell those to you for $60 a pop.

I only pay for Nintendo online to play Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I also only pay like $3 a year so I don't really care what they do with it. The NES and SNES apps are kind of an afterthought but I've played around with both a little bit. Never heard of these three games though.

Jelly Boy, Clay Mates and Bombuzal... are Nintendo fanboys excited by this?

@Litchie: well, I will regret it more if I don't turn off auto renewal, but might as well play through the line-up I do want so I can be done with it

More now I mostly regret being part of a larger number that signals to them willful market complacency.

Nintendo have really been neglecting the SNES library surely there's tons of better games than the garbage they are choosing.

Nintendo have been doing a worse job at backwards compat than Xbox and playstation. They have a huge library of games and they choose that garbage.

Sat down last night and watched some prominent YTers scorch this. I mean Jelly Boy wasn't even released in NA. Crazy. They pretty much pleaded for Nintendo to get it together with their online service. It seemed decent in the beginning and it just fell off. They haven't added any new systems, they take 2-3 months to add games now instead of every month. Calls for them releasing the old Virtual Console are in abundance.

It's just Nintendo being Nintendo. They could easily add more games, more systems, they could make this a must have service, they could make it a system selling service, but they just don't care. They're not interested in doing what fans want. They know what you want. They know what they should be doing. They just can't be bothered to do it. Here's Jelly Boy. An EU exclusive that no one ever heard of.

Granted, I was a Sega kid back then but I don't recall even hearing about these games back when they would have been relevant. I surely don't hear anyone reminisce about them today. Not a good selection Nintendo...

Sure, because it's the same lousy peer to peer connection that Wii U had, only this time Nintendo found a way to get people to pay for it.

Brilliant.

Nintendo has been allowed by gamers to have such a low bar that there is absolutely no incentive for them to improve.
