They’re nuts, 30 bucks extra? So 50 a year for their online, 75 for family plan.

Good thing it's tiered, if you gotta play online just get it without the expansion pack right? I only wish you could play less if you don't want the NES/SNES games.

That's why I have a NES/SNES, but they're making me pay extra for something I already own if I want to get online. I also have a Genesis and N64 so don't need this.

Lmao that is such a nintendo move. Millions probably lining up to purchase it cause you can play "N64 classics" again. You literally could do it for free and emulation app exist on the playstore if you use android.

For $50 per year the service better be good (lol setting expectations on nintendo). The current PS+ and XBLG offers games totalling 7-8 hundred bucks per year.

No kidding. They lined up to pay for $70 cardboard, they lined up to pay $25 for a QOL feature for the worst console Zelda, and they’ll pay out the teeth for this too. Nintendo truly has it easy.

Jesus f’n Christ Nintendo! 😅

That’s definitely much more then I was expecting. At least you can still get the cheaper “standard” version.

So classic games are worth nothing because you can just pirate them, but indie games and bargain bin titles are worth $700-800 per year? How does that make any sense?

Yeah ... No.

I mean i have beaten OoT so many times by now and is hard to get back to the original after playing the 3DS version. I got SM64 on my WiiU so ... unless they get like most Rare games and some other interesting ones like Mischief Makers or Mace: The Dark Age, hell even some Shadowman, you know something outside the usual N64 titles we get each time, then i will not be paying this.

Pathetic. $30 price hike when all you get is old N64/Genesis games tops any price hikes Sony or Microsoft have done in the past year.

There's still only a handful of games to really enjoy online on Switch anyways, despite the system being five years old next March: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Splatoon 2, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Pretty sure Switch also has the Sega collection. Which is like over 50 games for something like 20 or 30 bucks.

It's ridiculous. As an AC fan it works for me, personally, but I can understand how others would find it to be an absurd price.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Sega Collection. Would definitely be much better just to buy that instead. Really wish Nintendo would make a bunch of their classic games available just to buy individually.

Nintendo offered a ton of VC titles for sale on Wii U, but it didn't sell well so I don't blame them for scrapping the whole VC-to-own structure in favor of a subscription gate for those titles.

Yep. And if they tied that to an actual eco system, knowing my library of classics would carry forward, I'd throw my money at em.

At this point, just not up for buying a 6th copy of SM64. 😂

@ConanTheStoner: Same here. There’s a ton of classic games I’d be grabbing from the back catalogue of numerous companies. I feel like they’re leaving a lot of money on the table not offering them for purchase from consumers.

At this point don't have spite towards the Nintendo user-base. See them as fellow human beings in need of intervention. It's our duty to help those who cannot help themselves.

As a predominantly, PC user looking from safe distance, it's very abhorrent, but as expected as the sun rising. They've normalized exploitation creating a bizarre consumer stolk syndrome.

I'm just gonna stick to the $20 package and I'm not that desperate for N64 games and even if I was, I'll just drive to my mom's house and pick up my old N64 console with over 40 N64 games I left behind.

@mesome713 said:

I'm happy for you but the way I see it, I’m not usually one to cry about the pricings as money isn’t an issue on such things, but this is not a good value IMO. Compare this offer to the other two console-maker’s similarly-priced subscriptions. This is nowhere close to those in value, particularly MS case but hey, if you are excited for all of this, more power to you🤷‍♂️

Not for me. I don't play Nintendo Online. I'm not paying $49.99-79.99 to play games I bought on the Wii or Wii U virtual console. The game selection is way too small for what they are asking. I'll stick with gamepass for my game rental service, it offers me a lot more bang for my money.

As I said in another thread, people here will complain and laugh but turn around and subscribe.

That's why Nintendo is charging $30 for something that should be a maximum of $10.

It really should be included for free to be honest, people are already paying a lot for a little.

@navyguy21: Actually, no, it’s only $30 for Animal Crossing fans. Nintendo will offer without DLC. Then it’ll be like $5 extra which is cheap.

This dlc news is for us Animal Crossing fans who love to play online with family. This deal is amazing.

I already went and dusted off my Wii U after the N64 extra tier was first announced, that was awful, but I basically have everything I'd want to play on Switch on my Wii U so I'll just play off that.

No thanks... their handling of VC has been a total joke for consecutive gens now. Not to mention you can get 90% of the sega games from the excellent sega collection for a 1 time bye!

Not sure why nintendo thinks Mario Kart 64 is something that needs to be celebrated 4 years into every gen. Like we are supposed to be thrilled this gets ported over to their current system for the upteenth time.

Pretty wack, so they are forcing people to pay for AC DLC if they want access to the N64 games??? What if I just want access to the N64 games and don't care for AC???
