Nintendo NX Controller New Images Leak (UPDATED: Fake)

- Only the upper 'nubs' of the sticks move. The bottom part is static (kind of like the circle pad, but it moves along the bottom 'sphere'.

- The rollers on the top feel and look pretty much identical to a mouse scroll-wheel. Though I do don't believe this will be the final design.

- Haptic feedback is feels like Apples 'taptic' engine. Not like regular rumble.

- 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom

I mean, it looks nice, but I'm sorry, a touch only controller is a no-no. Definitely not aboard this train.

It looks sexy, like a Vita. It also looks surprisingly high end for a Nintendo product.

I have tried to play Sonic on my phone, it was horrible and I really friggin' tried to get the hang of the controls. Physical sticks would've helped a lot, but still. The OP calls himself Perkele, which is a Finnish swear word, so I'm still kinda skeptical about this.

I mean they wouldn't make a controller that makes playing games harder now would they? What about 3rd party support, they obviously have multiple controller options again, or they can kiss that support good bye.

So the lesson they learned from the Wii U was to take away buttons? LOL. Well done Nintendo, you fell below even my low as hell expectations.

Looks like Nintendo is trying to attract the mobile crowd with this thing. I guess I don't blame them given the Wii U's lackluster sales, but man this is going to alienate the hardcore gamer big time.

They have online services, e-shop and they even have a fidelity service. Wii U has mutliplat games.

Where did you see the price of the controller or the console itself? Did you see the specs of the console?

Well I am not surprised. Nintendo cannot help but make gimmicks. This gimmicky controller is going to be at the cost of the consoles hardware performance. I am betting money on that.

Technically, it is possible that one person created a fake modeled on an earlier fake, to make both fakes look legitimate in the process, but I honestly don't believe that to be the case here- this reeks of this all being real.

If real, it's evident that Nintendo has not changed and their current trajectory will continue. 3DS very nearly tanked when it made a bad bet on 3D and excluded a second joystick and only managed to turn things around after drastically slashing the price. Wii U has no online. Why for example Party 10 has no online? There is no community, no ranking, no voice chat, no achivements, NOTHING!!!! no server system and even call of duty is dead... NICE!!!!!
Most users said that they not gonna buy Wii U because of that. If they cant do online with NX then people won't buy another Nintendo console.

Looks ridiculously good, but I can't say I'm a fan touch, unless they absolutely nail the accuracy and response of the controls.

I wouldn't be surprised if these leaks were controlled by Nintendo to gauge consumer feedback. The last thing they want is to officially reveal this thing and cause a huge shitstorm. They need for the NX to be a hit, or they are done making hardware.

Well no buttons makes me not like it. How would that configuration transalte to 3rd party games? I guess you would need the classic controller.

And it still looks terrible. If true, Nintendo really learnt nothing from the Wii U.

I remember seeing another image with 2 handles on the thing as well.

Unless there is some way to provide for a physical interface on the front, the only solution I perceive is to map areas of the screen with bubbles that translate to buttons (like iOS and Android games). But undoubtedly that would be disastrous, 1) it compromises screen real estate; 2) provides no physical feedback that an action will be successfully performed; and 3) leaves a sizable gap for developers to fill and adapt to when porting games from more traditional controllers.

This is bad news all around for 3rd party support and gravely concerning for the type of game experiences you'll get, new and old from the 1st party (emulating old games is going to be only marginally better than using a touch-only device).

Dammit. I wanted tactile buttons. I don't want to have to look down to see what the hell I'm pressing. I'll reserve judgement until Nintendo actually shows it off.
