Nintendo has the best overall exclusive lineup of the 3

When it comes to the sheer variety of experiences one can have, Nintendo comes out on top. Xbox is severely lacking in the singleplayer department and Sony's exclusives are either action/adventure (TLOU/GoW) or RPG (Horizon, Persona). There are some exceptions, but the heavy hitters are in those categories.

Nintendo has racing (mario kart), rpg (BotW), fighting (smash bros), platforming (super mario maker, donkey kong), platforming/adventure (super mario odyssey), shooter (splatoon), jrpgs/turn-based jrpgs (xenoblade, fire emblem, pokemon), action (astral chain, Bayonetta 3), and more.

@XVision84: They definitely have had a good lineup this year with Yoshi, Mario Maker 2, Ultimate Alliance 3, Fire Emblem, Astral Chain, Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword/Shield. Very impressive year.

Also, did OP call Bayonetta a fighting game?

If only I was moved to play their recent exclusives. :(

But despite so many high ranking games on the Switch, I can only find three which I want to buy, Zelda, Mario Kart and SF 30th anniversary only to play SF3. Maybe Mortal Kombat 11 (I prefer fighting games on handhelds).

GE3, Zelda, Astral Chain, Luigi, etc.., the rest of the year is solid.

Played most of those, all terrible games. Guess being older now is probably a good reason as any.

Nintendo has some great IPs to be sure. It's one of the reasons I got a Switch for the family.

That said, I still prefer Playstation exclusives.

You named four Mario games, Donkey Kong and Splatoon that's basically a line up for small children and therefore is unlikely to constitute a 'best exclusives' claim in the eyes of most people.

Xenoblade is the only thing I would play if I bought a Switch, can't justify the outrageous cost of what is literally massively outdated junk hardware to play a game or two.

There is a good variety and some excellent games on the Switch but for sheer scope of excellence I’ll still take the PS4.

And people, stop playing only exclusives. Plenty of reasons to own any of the systems.

Yeah.. The Switch is f*cking solid. I feel the PS4 nailed it this gen, solely due to the fact that i've gamed more on the PS4 as opposed to my Switch.

In term of diversity yes they are great but quality wise, Xenoblade 2 is one of the worst JRPG this gen.

It's not hard to be best when one competitor's quality stuff is 90% 3rd person action games and the other has just Forza (love Halo but let's be honest, Halo 5 isn't much to brag about).

To play a little devil's advocate, Nintendo could be so much better. It kills me when people hype Kirby and Yoshi- that stuff is lame and not needed. Nintendo has 3-5 franchises they are just sitting on that would tremendously fill out what genres they are offering in their exclusives.

But yeah its partially the pissy fans, im sure. Complaining about "wheres this game, wtf did you do to smash, etc." Fact of the matter is a lot of their audience left during the tail end of the 64 amd gamecube, so they had to seek a new audience. People should let them do their thing. Fanboys whine about everything, and that goes for all of em.

It's not like they have a lot of competition. Sony has their average action movie games and Xbox has Halo/Gears/Forza.

yeah. its true but nintendo has only childish games as exclusive. none of them have any good exclusives.

@XVision84: It has a couple of good games, and when I find a cheap used switch, I will get one for the two or three games I like.

However, Switch could never be my prime console, because it's missing way, way too many games.

Nintendo has to go with colorful graphics because their hardware isn't good enough to match up to base PS4/Xbone, let alone PS4 pro/Xbone X or PCs.

And frankly I'm happy with that decision.

Almost any, if not all of those games can be quickly humiliated by multi-platform games not available on Nintendo's system at all... So what was your point again?

None, specially PC. The platform has no worthwhile exclusives, nobody talks about them. Nintendo's exclusives on the other hand, is where is at. It's a sad and dark time for PC.

Nintendo has the best quality and variety of any studio.

It's really good, I do prefer Sony's line up of exclusives better though.

I can see that Nintendo's line up of games are quality titles and I can appreciate that but Nintendo's buy in price for the Switch completely turns me off.

What is mean is Nintendo has some games I'd love to play, at the right price.

Sonys exclusive games on the other hand demand to be played and motivate me to acquire them more because they are more mature and higher reaching than the exclusives Nintendo puts out IMO.

Nintendo's exclusive games, albeit the variety and quality are usually high, the genres they cover are only targeted at a specific audience, though.

Just to set a few examples:

Mario Kart is their only racing game covering that genre. Many people (including me) would take Forza Horizon 4 (arcade), Gran Turismo Sport (simcade) or Assetto Corsa (sim with full support for car/track mods) any day, any minute.

Splatoon is their only game covering the shooter genre. That's like a joke, i hope i don't have to even bother to list any examples here.

Etc, etc... with their other genres/games.

The only genre where they shine is basically (pure) platformers, there's no arguing there, except... There's virtually zero competion, because that genre is dying.

COMPLETE control over your system on both hardware and software side of things, that's the PC's biggest exclusive you silly console-only fanboys will never realize/downright fail to understand... Also playing superior version of ~99% multi-platform games is probaly a sin too...?
