Nintendo Announces MINI WiiU.

Well, this came out of nowhere. Getting some 2DS vibes here.

"With a device that has a dramatically lower price point. That’s just an example of how we’re always thinking about, ‘how do we get more people playing games? How do we get more people playing Nintendo games?’”

The MINI WiiU will not have all the features like the standard WiiU. Notable ones like Off-TV Play, backwards compatibility and wifi out the box are gone. Instead, it has been replaced with an ethernet port, for your wired gaming needs.

Affordability. Simplicity. That's what the MINI WiiU is all about.

The MINI WiiU will be available in North America for $199.99 on October 12th, and will be available in UK/Europe and Australia/NZ on October 12th also.
