well since we already know what kind of hardware the Wii2 is going to have well rough estimates what do you guys see sony and MS wrapping into their box?

Cafe-IBM triple core@4.0ghz 22nm build 512mb DDR4 ram, AMD R700, 100g HD

Nextbox-Intel fermi Octocore 4.5ghz, AMD fusion DX12, 1080p, 5gigs DDR5, 1440p support stereoscopic 3D, 500gig HD, 2X Blue-Ray

PS4-Cell2 48 Spe's @5.0ghz, nVidia fermi or perhaps Maxwell 14-46GFLOPS 5000 stream processors, 500G HD, up to 1440p res, Ultraviolet Ray player

this information come from a couple of sources of mine and while some of them might prove to be wrong most of them are not. it looks without doubt project Cafe will be quite stronger than 360 and the PS3, but in comparison to real next generation consoles it will be just like this generation as the other two have vastly improved hardware. sheep better hope Wii3 comes out in 2015.

How do you have 'sources' on the next Xbox and PS. The development teams haven't even been fully assembled yet.

Why not give us links while you're at it, also, they will be expensive if true.

I just really hope they use AT THE VERY LEAST: Quad core/2GB RAM/6870(460GTX) equivalent graphics card.

just because a company is hiring some new people does not mean they had no prior plans, the 360 succesor has been in development since 2006

Firsly rumours are not fact so, we don't know what hardware project cafe will be made up of.

Secondly, Don't claim to have sources and then not provide links or details of these sources.

Can't wait for xbox next to use blue ray lol.

Octocore? Really? Most PC games dont even use quad core.

Good luck trying to clock an octocore at 4.5 Ghz without burning a hole to the console.

I know that these specs are pure speculation but to the people saying that its too advanced or whatever these consoles will be out 2014-2015 at the earliest and if it follows the trend it will last until 2020-2024, the specs need to be quite good to keep up with technology.

pc gaming has stagnated because for better or worse consoles have held them back developers don't see the point in developing a game that use 100% resources if the pay off is going to be weak. until next gen starts you will see a big leap in graphics, physics, AI because the devs will be making games on PS4, Nextbox so it will financially make sense.

 What? Not gonna happen my friend, our tv's don't even support 1440p yet. Heck, not all channels are even HD channels yet, games aren't even 1080p standard yet (on consoles at least). Once we have all games full 1080p, all hd channels, and cable boxes that even support 1080p HD (rogers only supports 1080i) then we will have 1440p compatibility and we'll be moving on. Also, your GPU specs for PS4 are insane, and Ultraviolet Ray player? This isn't 2025 :) take it easy, technology doesn't move THAT fast (well unless you want the PS3 to be $1500) same with the 360. For Project Cafe, 512mb is waaaay too low. If they want any sufficient multiplat support for next gen, then they need at least 4GB's of RAM (especially when RAM is so cheap). There's no point in having a great GPU and CPU if you have the same RAM limitation that are really hurting consoles right now (I believe RAM is more or less the biggest problem in consoles so far).

we are talking about 2013-2014 what do you think they will put in them a core2 duo? besides these companies always see these things at a loss in the beggining. go back to 99-2000 and i tell you the 360 will have a triple core cpu and state of the art gpu you would say no way that will cost $1000

Runs cool

It's powerful but it does not run cool from anything I have read. Heat and the amount of power it needs, along with its size, make Fermi very unlikely to be a part of the next gen consoles.

Go read up the gtx 5xx series reviews. They are the same as the AMD 68xx. In the case of the gtx 560 much lower.

all the numbers i've given you are legit, sony is developing Ultraviolet Ray disc, and i said it will support 1440p doesn't mean many games will use it, and these tv's will be out in the next 10 years, perhaps you live in a undeveloped country?(no offense intended)

I thought Fermi was referring to the GTX 480, which could double as stove by itself:?

EDIT:This seems to somewhat hold true for the 580 refresh.

It's very possible dude. Nintendo always starts woking on their next gen HH or consoles when they realease a new one. It takes years to plan their next console not 2 years.

Edited my post with stuff on the GTX 580. Which runs hotter than all the single gpu 6xxx series cards by ATI (the chart on anadtech doesn't show the 6970 because it was not out yet I think)

EDIT: At load the GTX 580 is the hottest graphics card out there right after the GTX 285, and sucks even more power than the GTX 285.

well since we already know what kind of hardware the Wii2 is going to have well rough estimates what do you guys see sony and MS wrapping into their box?

TheAcountantMan

Intel octo LOL no octo core! Thats way overkill.

not at all, people thought the almighty cell was overkill there is always room for improvement no point in holding back on technology unless you want PS3.5

all the numbers i've given you are legit, sony is developing Ultraviolet Ray disc, and i said it will support 1440p doesn't mean many games will use it, and these tv's will be out in the next 10 years, perhaps you live in a undeveloped country?(no offense intended)

GotNugz

Yet again, troll harder. At least make up facts that are hard to verify or hold up to basic scrutiny. The current console GPUs can probably support up to 2560x1600.

None of the info you've given is "legit". I have a **** of friends who work for MS, SONY, AMD/ATi, and Nvidia. You're talking straight out of your ***.

[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"][QUOTE="shakmaster13"]

I thought Fermi was referring to the GTX 480, which could double as stove by itself:?

shakmaster13

That was the first of many fermi based GPUs.

It's also the most powerful single gpu card on the market. Compare the gtx 560 to an AMD product of the same speed and it runs cooler. Fermi like I said earlier is beastly.

Absolutely nothing you said was legit, and if there's nothing supporting 1440p and 1080p isn't even the standard yet, then 1440p is not needed. Why would they spend money to support something that nothing is using yet? Maybe next gen we'll see a higher resolution, but like I told you before, as long as 1080p HD isn't the standard, then 1440p won't be used. Next gen is not in 10 years, next gen is in 1-3 years. Sony is developing Ultraviolet Ray discs, now tell me, are these discs going to be used in 2 years? Why aren't we hearing about this everywhere yet? Why are there no Blu-ray vs Ultraviolet ray battles? Blu-ray isn't even the set standard yet! Xbox has yet to incorporate a blu-ray player and not everyone even has a blu-ray player. You're just going on about technology without understanding a thing of how technology even works in the world. I also live in Canada, and Canada is not considered an undeveloped country, and I have a sufficient knowledge of technology too.

Uh, what? 4gb ram is overkill? Nah computer can get up to 12gb, even more. Also, no such as overkill in term of gaming.
