Anyone know if and when its happening?? I hope its not the switch lite, or even worse if Nintendo decided to drop the 3ds lineup all together. My opinion is they should make a true portable and base it on the Samsung foldable tech.

I love the 3DS to this day, but nah, I want Nintendo to focus on Switch instead of splitting up dev teams to work on multiple systems. Switch is just now starting to get some solid 3DS types of games and I want to see more of that continuing down the road.

Switch is the only thing Nintendo should and is focusing on right now. With that said you never know if they will go back to dual-screen handhelds in the future but I seriously doubt that'll happen.

I would prefer a next-generation successor to the Switch with 4K resolution and 60 frame-per-second graphics in handheld and console mode. Something close to the high-end Samsung and Apple smartphones.

I am hoping that another dual-screen handheld will be released, but I don't see it happening soon. 3D effects are mere gimmicks and should never be used again. Another dual-screen handheld's touchscreen should be more finger-oriented, like smartphones, and make styli optional. But anticipate less than stellar battery life if more powerful screens with better frame-rate and high resolution are highly prioritized.

Oh, and the dual-screen handheld should have two analog sticks, like the Switch, and more buttons.

Let's hope not !

3DS was a great product, I've got 5, but Switch is what Nintendo should focus upon, Switch lite is way better than 3DS by a mile.

I wish Nintendo would just make a legacy 3DS with a digital store that encompasses the entire catalog of DS/3DS games, with games discounted to modest prices.

I think the whole dual screen idea is going to be parked. Devs didnt really find much use from it.

i think they will only look into a proper portable again when they can think of a way to fight effectively for pocket space. Phones are hard to dislodge.

Other than that the switch lite seems to be covering the 3DS sector of the market now.
