what does this game have to do with graphics kings? It's not highly awaited because of the graphics. People are looking forward to it (and funding it) because it's a spiritual successor to Planescape torment, a much loved isometric cRPG--not known for its graphics.

I'm looking forward to this as long as they haven't adopted the idiotic 'no exp for kills' rule Pillars introduced. I like it to be my choice whether I gain exp through combat or conversation. Would love a spiritual successor to PT worthy of the name though.

You may not have been gaming in 93, but yeah, that actually looks pretty good and up to date for the type of game it is. This is aside from the fact that people don't play these games for the graphics.

And the best game on PS4 (the only truly great game on PS4) is full of last gen quality assets and stutters like a bitch. Luckily is has a sick art style.

Halo 5 looks down right embarrassing in spots.

Pillars gives you XP for combat. There's a limit per creature type though.

Some people actually like isometric games and don't care about high-end graphical fidelity.

What is that? A Crysis 3 mod with a female protagonist on medium settings? Or is it the PS4 version of ARK, a "budget bin pre-alpha" with added robo-dinos? I can't really tell. Them tree bark and ivy textures on the left tho...looking....pretty bad.

So easy to dismantle this trolling and lying:

1. That is one of PS4s most anticipated games (in a small list of upcomming exclusives). PC's most anticipated exclusives include Star Citizen and Unreal Trounament, both of which obliterate that game. Don't play the gfx card against PC. It isn't wise. You've lost 3 gens in a row doing that.

2. Begging? PC has more non indy/budget aaa/aa/a than any single console so far this gen. Your second sentence has no logical basis in reality. This year PC has Warhammer, XCOM2, Unreal, Fortnight, Black Desert, Lost Ark, Battlecry, Star Citizen, Escape from Tarkov, DreadNaught, and many more for non indy/budget titles.

3. Ironically, a majority of PS4's exclusives are budget/indy games. It's best exclusive yet is BloodBorne, which looks last gen. So less aaa,aa,a (indy or otherwise) and worse version of over 90% of multiplats. lol "beggers".

Nothing wrong with liking games like the OP mentioned while playing gfx kings on the side on PC. Torment rocked, and that picture he posted actually looks gorgeous. PC, gameplay AND gfx ftw.

There are plenty of console exclusives that look like shit, I don't see the point in this thread.

Criticising Tides of Numenara for its graphics is somewhat akin to criticising games using pixel-artstyle for its jagginess and blockiness...or a retro game for looking..well, retro. Its that pointless. Since thats the whole point and intention of the design.

Thats the problem with a lot of console players....they generally want to attack the PC but usually they don't know what they are talking about and came off as just silly and slightly embarassing (if only they knew).

Its like kids when they think they are saying something smart but dumb and the adults are cringing inside yet outwardly smile so as not to hurt their feels....lol

I've never understood intentionally designing a game to look like crap though, isn't the better thing to do is make it as good as you can without artificial limits.?

I'm enjoying wastelands 2 at the moment, and I'm looking forward to this. Not every game needs to be a contender for graphics king in order to be good.

It's funny you mention Wasteland 2 as that game is an absolute eye sore. I would argue that Starcraft, a RTS game released by Blizzard in 1998, is far more aesthetically and graphically appealing than Wasteland 2. That did not stop me from enjoying the game however I hope inXile put a lot more effort with Torment Tides of Numenera.

So sad it won't be able to stack upto Crysis 2 from 2011 as per DF.

All of which begs the question: could these new consoles run Crysis 3? Ryse delivers the full suite of CryEngine features with excellent image quality and it's still just a launch title. Given the experience of working on such a product, we have little doubt that Crytek could produce a Crysis Trilogyof sorts for next-generation consoles with few compromises.

Was this even heavily anticipated, I haven't heard of it before...
