I hope so, but there's no proof of that, plus the ground textures of the 3rd pic are pretty bad. I want Crysis to be good, but it's not looking as beautiful as it originally was.

I agree with this but like I said, thats not the native resolution of the pictures. It's kind of funky and you know for a fact that it was not meant to be at the resolution. Anyway, if you read the interview where the screenshots are they are also placed to show off specific things like 3D Waves, Lightrays and Mountains. There is always the off possibilty that in order to fully show of those featuresput the other settings lower to highlight those specific aspects.

How well can i run that with an 8600GT? I know not high.Riviera_Phantom

High(not Very High or Ultra High but definitely High). Don't worry too much. Just check out the demo when it comes out.

If 1895*1050 is an in game resolution I am going to die laughing because thats almost a "WTF?" moment.

the picture looks like it might have been stretched...cause that clearly isnt the native resolution of any game to date.

and the most recent batch of pics they have just released all look as good as always.

It does seem a bit strange, especially the quality of the last picture.

No PC Gamer in the world would ever make such retarded remarks.

For you and all the other kids that don't know how AA works on PC Gaming, YOU SET THE LEVEL YOURSELF OK?

In pc gaming you can choose between 2 and 32x AA and trust me 32x which is a billion miles beyond anything any console game uses.

So while mentioning jaggies is worth noting on the fixed console settings, mentioning it on PC screens is ignorance at it's worst.

Gaming Heaven: Crysis is one of the few bastions of PC gaming. What were your main reasons to ignore consoles? Wouldn't the fixed architecture make them prime candidates for optimizations?

Cevat: Yes would be. But the original Crysis game as we designed wouldn't be possible on consoles that's why and our key reason to ignore other platforms is to focus on quality and the game.

Wow, Hermits have everyone scared into hyping Crysis' graphics around here don't they? Let me to be the first honest one here, those screens look like garbage, trash, yeah I said it, those are some horrible screens. "Bu-Bu-But teh Crysis is teh graphix king!!11" Of course it is, Crysis looks amazing, those screeshots do not. End of story, anyone that tells me those screens look beautiful is nothing short of being blind.

All in all, Crysis looks absolutely breathtaking visually, but those screens are trashy looking.

you forget to read the thread before you posted? The Resolution is some random crap(1895*1050? WTF is that?), and those screenshot were meant to be shown at lower resolutions to show off a particular aspect of the game. In the article they are miniature and even if you click on them they are smaller before you make them regular size again. Why crank everything up for a screenshot made to show off one aspect of the games graphics (3D waves, Godrays, Mountains). The pics appear to be on lower settings other than maxed out on the one feature.

Notice the SunShafts? They are the focal point of the picture.

This screenshot is to show off the mountains:

ALL of them show off the feature they are made to show off and they do it amazingly well. These are called press-screenshots and they don't need to have everything looking perfect because they are meant to be shown with the Subtitles below them telling what they are supposed to show. Sure, they could have had everything way up but again, why even bother when the whole point is to show off specific details. If everything else was maxed out, it would draw attention away from the focal points. Like in the mountains screeny, if the trees were any better everyone would ignore the mountains and go "OMG!!! Those trees are amazing!"

Yeah, I read it after I posted. But still even though theres a reason, they arn't great pictures.

Nothose screenshots suck but for what they are supposed to show off they do a great job. The Waves in the 3D waves screenshot are amazing, the mountains in the mountain screenshot are stunning and the SunShafts are awesome in the SunShafts screenshot.

Looks very unimpressive.
