Only demoed on PS4 Pro and PC.

New engine going forward and foundation for next generation game development.

Photogrammetry used on the entire game.

Temporal reconstruction used

Cheaper than checkerboarding rendering

60fps

SS Reflections

SS Shadows

Hate reconstruction. Causes massive amounts of blur. Hate anything that causes blurry games.

Days Gone for example. Could be a beautiful game, as it has absolutely beautiful assets. Alas, as soon as you step on a bike, you start seeing how blurry the game is, thanks to its reconstructions.

I would rather play the game at 720/60 than blurry 4K reconstructed.

Damn. What would fanboys do if they can't count pixels? Imagine gaming without that knowledge? Its going to be rough. LOL

I doubt it. It seems they were told how things were going to be, and they related it to prior experience. I'm sure it'll still boil down at the end of the day after the game releases.

@R4gn4r0k:

I agree. Per object can work out fine and often enhance the perception of animation, but entire screen blur or the bloom from last gen....doesnt look so great. In short bursts like in MK8 it isnt too distracting...

Reminds me of Star Wars Racer Revenge on ps2....more or less always on, on a 60fps game no less.

This is one advantage of gaming on pc, i believe most games give you control over that but i could be wrong.

Better than Checkerboarding that causes jaggie edges.

@xhawk27:

I disagree. I dont even mind pixels. Aliasing blurs the image to rid the screen of percieved pixels, and reduces sharpness in the process.

You mean anti-aliasing. I would also rather see some aliasing than a blurry image.

@BassMan:

Yes thank you for correcting that.

There was some technique on the original Playstation which added some strange artifacting to the image, which i think was meant to add a smoothing effect but it always looked bad to me. Square used it a lot.

Starfox on N64 also had this entire screen filter.

That's too much to ask from Activision.

All I can say is that at this point the new CoD game looks better than anything I have seen from the franchise in a long time. I've been fooled more than once by CoD games, but I love the way the new engine looks, time to kill looks pretty good, love the actual projectile-based bullets and not hit scan bs, and the focus on competitive modes with one life. At this point it's about a sure buy from me. I know it's CoD so I'm going in with bated breath, but I really am hoping for the best. So far it's looking pretty good to me.

Resolution counting was never much of an issue on my PC's.

I'll await the microtransaction system.

Only in a cow world temporal reconstruction is a 'new' technique.

Damn the pre-emptive DC of next-gen consoles is already started.
