A recent data leak has shown images of PS5 controllers and Ghost of Tsushima coming to Netflix. Netflix’s gaming code name is Shark, and a partnership with Sony could be just what the doctor ordered to get it going. Heck Netflix could even just buy Sony later down the line since they already have big deals with them. I’d be all for it. I love Netflix and would love it if they started to offer games also.

Which Sony games would y’all want to come to Netflix?

I dropped Netflix after the whole Cuties debacle. That's a line they shouldn't have crossed and I'm not sure I'll go back to them... even for gaming.

@Telekill: It was pretty good though. It shined a light on a much needed debate in the world on how we oversexulize young people. The film was revolutionary.

As far as Netflix coming into the world of gaming, its really hard to say how they'll handle it.

Stadia is an example for all streaming platforms on what "not what to do" in the future. Netflix has the money to do it but I feel it is a bit late to the crowded game streaming market especially it has no game studio (as far as I'm aware of) hence no exclusives. Unless they "one up" Sony by having "Netflix PS Now" 0 cost or 5$ extra and they have more oldies and comprehensive 3rd party deals. But either way, you can't blame these corps on joining the streaming goldmine. (which I'm afraid of but at least its optional for the gaming world, I won't throw a fuss over it)

I'm surprised you are asking this. This has been an issue all over the place on media like Twitter and such. People seem to forget that Cuties is a French film first and foremost so cause they accept anything sexual content towards younger girls but I don't want to dwell on this subject, U.S didn't like how Netflix was pushing the agenda saying it overstep its boundaries because it has younger girls dressing sexy content, (loli in its name only in Anime world) but for me, I didn't care about it cause its a French film. I love Netflix cause I don't watch TV or have cable anymore and I like to watch my shows at my own time/place.

Edit: It's also why Gamespot never wanted to review Cuties in the first place despite they like to review anything from Netflix.

@xantufrog: It was a documentary on how juvinile girls were objectified in some kind of cheerleading(?) competition. While the message was clear there were some very disturbing scenes (I didn't watch it but heard of them) showing the girls doing provocative dances while adult males drooled over them. Then when Netflix CEOs defended it, it basically gave pedophiles exactly what they wanted in recorded legal streaming form.

It was inappropriate at best and if Netflix really wanted it to remain up while doing it right, they should have asked for a re-edit to remove those severely questionable... not even questionable but complete inappropriate scenes.

@Telekill: America removing the movie just proves the film was correct. We have a problem in that we oversexualize young girls. It’s not a girl dancing in a bathing suit that’s the problem. It’s the people who think weird when a young girl is dancing in a bathing suit.

@mesome713: Sexualizing children in any fashion is my hard line... even if the message was to prove just that, the method they chose was inappropriate. Due to that Netflix lost my business. It's simple.

@Telekill: Only a perverted mind would have thought that though. People were saying cause they wear short shorts it was wrong? What? What about girls who wear bathing suits. What is wrong with people.

A girl wearing makeup even makes people think weird stuff. Our society is pretty messed up.

Oh wow, didn’t realize Sony was onboard. That has a much better chance to succeed than Stadia imo. I think people are much more willing to upgrade an existing subscription than starting yet another one.

Sony has a library of games I think may appeal to the Netflix audience. Something like TLOU2 is right up their alley.

I bet David Cage is crying of joy right now 😂!

@mesome713: I was a 911 dispatcher for more than a decade. I'm well aware of the perverse minds that are out there. It's not the normal people kids need to be protected from. Saying, only perverts care, screams ignorance of what's actually out there and what people should be shielding their children from.

Everyone should share this line in the sand to protect kids. That's the last I'll talk about this tangent.

That could be cool. Letting you play through a duel after the episode or a scenario only hinted at in the show.

@mesome713: The biggest problem with Cuties was the Netflix marketing. The pictures they used for promotion were disturbing. Netflix didn't have to market it in such a graphic way. But they chose to do so in order to generate attention... And they sure got plenty of attention.

And that was the problem, it was marketing that really shock their viewers. Netflix choose to promote it and it cost them their trust and they lost pretty much of its subscribers. Gamespot sure as hell wasn't gonna take part of it and review it.

Also, Netflix doesn't have the money to buyout Sony, their market stock isn't that high either but I can see Sony buying Netflix if they wish but I don't see it benefiting Sony.

Sony could just sell/team up with Netflix to host PSNow streams. Instantly few hundred million new users.

I would really love it if Sony did that. They really need to get out of the Console box and start thinking bigger. That would be far more forward thinking than we are used to seeing from Sony. Welcome change indeed.

I highly doubt that we will see a collaboration between Netflix and Sony. Both companies seem to want to run their own show. And how would they share profits?

The whole lot of manufactured outrage on that topic would do well to actually read --not even a book is required in this case -- just a plot synopsis. Criticizing it based upon appearances is lizard-brained.

The film is actually an attempt to take on both ultra-conservative religious cultures (like the background of the main character) as well as "pornification" in modern culture directed at little girls.

Cuties was a big L for Netflix. I don't think the outrage was manufactured, it was Netflix pushing preverted agendas, like many try to do in other areas today. Some people want to normalize things like Cuties and Cuties was just a gateway for the future. Expect to see more of things like this down the line and certain people backing it saying there's nothing wrong.

This is my last comment about it because this isn't what SW is about, but it's not what you typed. In the end, Netflix is like Nintendo, Sony, any other big company that's a behemoth. Sure, some people may go elsewhere, but it won't be enough to hit their bottom line. That will lead to future productions just like this, eventually leading to the normalization of...certain things that certain mindsets want to be normalized. In any case, Netflix gaming will be Stadia Part 2. I'm not worried about their entry into the gaming market, just like I'm not worried about their streaming service, and I have it free of charge with my cell phone provider.

@X_CAPCOM_X: While I usually agree with you on a lot things here, imma have to disagree on Cuties. Whatever outrage it manufactured was the doing of Netflix. Even if the film itself is more nuanced, the way Netflix promoted it was anything but. The poster was an image of pre-teen children twerking in provocative outfits. That's how Netflix chose to promote the movie. So of course that's what most people will take away from it. If Netflix hadn't done that, then Cuties would've went unnoticed as just some random French art house film.

What if the girl was dancing to WAP and the audience was 40-year old men? Would that still be "our problem, not theirs. Get over it"?
