Isn't VC a form of backward compatibility?

Hardware that's actually comparable to the competition, along with a normal controller. No more goofy one handed motion controllers.
I have some good news for you!
Hell, even the underlined holds true if you look at the Switch for what it is- a handheld.
Oh, god. Just stop. It's a home console. It's hardware is comparable to the competition in 2008.
Virtual Console, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, MLB.TV, Backwards Compatibility, and the connection of my purchases to my account. I'd like to get rid of my WiiU at some point.
A web browser, Netflix, and chat function. That would be all I would honestly want. Bluetooth would be neat, but not required. With that said, Nintendo needs to get with it. These functions should be standard at launch. I'm tired of people excusing shitty practices. I don't care if that offends you or makes me a hater in your eyes.
I'd complain about lack of VC support if I wasn't still in the midst of playing Breath of the Wild, and I'm surely picking up Mario Kart 8 when that releases, so far I haven't hit a point where I'm not getting some decent mileage out of it, and don't see myself looking at my Switch with deep want for more. Still, they need that VC support, and I hope they make good on VC support for GameCube games. I'd love to replay me some Luigi's Mansion or Metroid Prime 1 & 2 on it. Still, I think Nintendo should look at releasing such games as upgrades re-releases because VC kind of feels a bit lazy. Hey, if we ever get N64 support, it would make my day if we ever got Tetrisphere. Anyhow, if they ever do bring VC support, I hope linking my Nintendo accounts allows me to get what I've already paid for numerous times at a discount, or free. I'd hate to have to repay for everything again.
All I want for the Switch is a diverse library, full of games with cool concepts. I barely game online and when I do, I don't chat. VC is a flop to me since the Wii era so I stop caring about it. (Gotta admit, being able to play the first Sin and Punishment was cool tho)
Edit: just thought of something. Not sure what the IR sensor does if it was replaced with the Wii IR pointer, that'd be great.
@TheShadowLord07: You can literally put it to sleep the same way you would for the PS4 or Xbone.
Yeah. Takes like 2-3 sec.
My brother and I were talking the other day about which features we would have liked for Nintendo to have included on the Switch, but don't know why they didn't.
I noticed that they don't have an internet browser or bluetooth to connect to a wireless headset.
Please talk about anything else you feel they dropped the ball on.
1 Games
2 digital media
3 streaming apps
4 optional cell network

guess I am old fashion then as I still shut down my ps4. oh well lol.
if not that, then I would like external storage support while the system is in dock mode.

Messaging. Come on now, Nintendo...
Virtual Console. It's been available for nearly two months and still nothing? Nintendoomed.
Oh and save data back-ups. Oh and messaging, as Chaz said.
You guys paid $300 for a console that has the same features as my N64 lol
Biggest feature missing right now is the virtual console. Where's the classic Nintendo games that we've come to expect now that digital purchases are tied to accounts instead of systems?
We know that a form of Virtual Console will be in place by the time the paid online service goes up in October- so I guess we have an absolute outer limit of when to expect the Virtual Console by, if nothing else.
@charizard1605: Here's hoping they include Gamecube games as rumored. I can wait till fall with PS4 to keep me company.
IfGamecube is actually added, I don't think it will be for a while lol. They'll probably do their annoying thing where they start with the NES and SNES to begin with, then slowly work their way back up from there.
As of now... games
Outside of Zelda there's nothing there that justifies $300
we'll see what the future brings

Can I have your N64 then? I wonder how you got it to run games like Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2.
Lame joke aside, I don't pay for a console for its features, only the games it gives me access to. Does the lack of said features hurt the overall product to the general consumer? Sure. Does it hinder my enjoyment of the device? Potentially. But was it enough to render my 120 hours of fun with BOTW moot? Nope, therefore: $300 well spent.
@AzatiS: ARMS is AAA fighting game. Switch is worlds most powerful handheld gaming device. Has tons of third party support and is super cheap. Its one of the cheapest Nintendo devices ever released.
The feature that's missing the most? General socializing features such as Messaging, Party Chats/Lobbies, Video-Recording/Sharing... basically everything that involves player engagement. I have a list full of friends that I can't interact with at all. That needs to change.
Also, Streaming Apps need to come to the Switch as well, and SOON. I would love to have the ability to watch movies and videos on that luscious Switch screen when I'm on the go!
The Virtual Console. Being a Switch owner a brief Wii U owner. I didn't try out the Virtual Console on the Wii U. I want to play Mario games on the go.
