If you stay on this forum for too long you start to believe nonsense like the OP. In the real world there are equally or better looking games. But its waste pointing them out because it will lead to no meaningful discussion. With that said God of War looks great.
Ultra 4K:
1. BF 1.
2. BF V.
3. Metro Exodus
4. FarCry 5
5. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
6. Forza
7. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
8. Witcher 3 (Mods count, fake rules don't).
9. A Plague Tale: Innocence
10. Battle Front II
And outside of God of War 4, dozens of PC games look better than whatever else PS4. Outside of those 3-4 movie games, 100's of PC games on Ultra4k look better than anything PS4 has.
Enjoy another gen of second/third place gfx while playing the shit version of 99% of other games.
@zaryia: I second this. There is no way a ps4, or even an Xbox One X, can match a decent pc. I say this even as someone who only really games on Xbox
@pandadropkicks:
Development time matches the pc. Thats what pc fanboys dont understand. For example a game like GTA 5 is in development for 7 or so years. How many nvidia upgrades happen in that time? A game like gta would not exist without consoles.

So basically you're pulling the 4K card.
No game on PC is graphically impressive as God Of War from a technical standpoint. From the set pieces to the way the characters models and environments are designed.
There's a very long list that answers the topic question.
1. Starpoint Gemini
2. Prey
3. Cyberpunk 2077
4, Witcher 3
5. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
6. Resident Evil 2 (the recent remake)
7. Starpoint Gemini Warlords
8. Doom (the 2017 one)
9. Sims 4
10. StarCraft 2
11. Stardew Valley
12. Octopath Traveler
13. Doom (the original)
14. Pacman (the original, in any arcade collection)
15. Monster Prom
16. World of Darkness Preludes: Vampire and Mage
17. The Windows crash screen
Wait... When the OP said "looks better," did they mean "graphical quality" or "how much it makes the person responding want to play it based on overall design and gameplay?" I might have confused the two...

No. Stop.
All of those games on Ultra 4K look better than GoW4. And after GoW4 there are dozens and dozens more. Of the top 100 best looking games this gen, nearly all of the list is just PC games on Ultra 4k with a handful of PS4 exclusives in the 10-50 mark.
5th Tries a Charm, better luck next gen.

This guy spend $1200 on an RTX 2080 and yet can't overcome the unfortunate facts that consoles dictate progress of graphics.
I repeat no game on PC is technically more impressive than God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spiderman, and soon to The Last of Us 2.
Have fun playing League, Dota, and Fortnite while we play the best looking games that gaming has to offer.
I believe around 3 games (Tomb Raider, BFV, and Quake II) total use the RTX feature that PC gamers spent over a grand for, gotta wait for the next gen consoles to release otherwise devs won't bother!
A cow thread that talks about graphics over gameplay AGAIN, and you wonder why you lot are the clowns of SW.

You asked for games that look better than GoW4 and I gave you 10.
Stop spinning, and take your 2nd/3rd place like a man. Better luck next gen. Until enjoy your low-fps and worst gfx.

This scene was boring to play. Very little player agency. As a boss, the whole thing was, overall, poor from a gameplay standpoint. And you people wonder why we call them movie games.
@R4gn4r0k: The gun models in Battlefield 5 are just insane. I am in awe every time I see them. Lol
Yeah man, there is some insane attention to detail with them. For example when pulling out the MP40, he takes it out of safe mode.
Same with Insurgency Sandstorm by the way, which has some of the best looking gun animations of any FPS at the moment.
Metro Exodus was also a step up from the previous games. Gunplay felt a lot better, and reload animations were on point, no matter the weapon.
This is stupid. There are more demanding games on PC, there are games with more advanced rendering features on PC, and obviously any PC game on a half decent PC is going to have better image quality and post-processing effects. There aren't many PC exclusives with the budget of a first party game like GoW, and it shows. I can't really think of any PC exclusive that has the same attention to detail in animation and little visual elements like the first party Sony games.
I don't know why PC gamers get so hung up on this. Crysis was the last true "PC game" to push hardware to their limit. Now the most impressive looking games are console ports and aren't even that good (Just look at the lists in this thread - all console ports, and all are shitty DLC infested games). I'd rather just have good games from a wide selection of genres, which is where PC excels.
You do realise digital foundry the same people that said God of War was breath taking said that Metro Exodus with Ray Tracing is the thing to beat now in terms of graphics.
Also Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best looking game on consoles.
Having played Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War and Metro Exodus with Ray Tracing... I agree with DF certain scenes of Metro with Ray Tracing look almost a generational leap above anything I have seen so far.
@brah4ever:
Digital foundry God of war
"The rendering techniques feels almost they're not pushing new boundaries in some of the ways ".
@PernicioEnigma: pc gamers don’t get hung up on this, but console tards keep making these ridiculous threads weekly trying to claim graphic king gow or horizon. And yeah as someone who have played both games on a PS4 pro within the last couple of weeks, they are not graphic kings... good looking games on some old crappy hardware with all the limitations that brings...
GOW is a great game though and maybe it’s time to stop focusing so much on graphic (it’s good enough imo) and more on gameplay??
And runs at 30fps lmao... Put the game to performance mode it runs at 1080p its still not locked at 60fps.
Come back when your not running games at PS1 framerates.
Can't even do 60fps... LOL
Why is it even being brought up in a graphics discussion if it can't even run properly? Not being able to run at 60fps disqualifies it by default.

But movies are 24fps, so 30 is an improvement!
Name me any Console specific online games that are played for 10+ years at million concurrent players for their GAMEPLAY?
I'l wait.
LOL
Linear Third Person Action Game that was 20 hours long and no reason to repeat... Yea, I'd rather play this:
For the second time, the 2004 GOTY over touching God of War ever again.
<---- More memorable visually than 90% of Sony exclusives.
Pc gamer fanboys should be bowing to console games like this and be more demanding of the hardware they invest so much money into. Imagine if there were real pc exclusives with such a budget and wizardry as God of War or Grand Theft Auto.
Console gamers may pay more for their games or pay for a service, but what the console lifecycle does is warrants such outputs.
TC is notorious for these kinds of posts, so instead I'll just ask the group more broadly - what's the obsession with this game's visuals? I haven't played it yet, but it's on my wishlist. To me, from the screenshots this doesn't look any different from Uncharted or Hellblade in terms of fidelity (although visual style varies of course). Frozen Wild would still seem like the benchmark to beaton consoles - that snow deformation is insane. Meanwhile plenty of indie games even, like Ghost of a Tale (or, again, Hellblade) sport comparable visuals that I can see. And then things like Metro and BF come and make your eyes bleed...
I just don't get it. Personally, I'm interested in this game for the setting and set pieces

That's not pulling "a card." Your thread specifically states "a pc game that looks better than GOW4." Zaryia provided you with a multitude of objectively better examples. And you countered with subjective criteria.
