Yes. I watched the video. From start to finish. Did you? They guy talking (as annoying as he was), mentioned that most people were playing off-line. He was the only one who had problems. Also, when he did have a problem, his immediate comment was "What do I do, I don't have an Xbox and don't know where to go."

Who knows what he pushed? Worst case, this was a bug in the DRM removal, more than likely it was him not knowing what he was doing because he did not have an Xbox One, and therefore had no experience in how to use one. Once he resigned in as a guest, he could play the game, though.

I always have a laugh when I see people who have no idea about the XB1 post videos thinking "OMG! Look how bad it is". It really gives me an insight into the cognitive abilities of the TC.

Unacceptable. It didn't happen in the middle of a round (it waited until the match was over), but that's really not the point. And if this indeed HAD been held at a venue where wifi or a hard wired connection was unavailable, this kind of thing could have put a very long pause in the middle of a match. I'm imagining someone having to disconnect the One, drive home where they have a TV and wifi to connect and test it on, verify their ownership, then come back to the venue.

Something people and organizations looking to hold tournaments based on XOne games/consoles will have to plan for (by having secure wifi on site), but it shouldn't be a problem in the first place...which was the point.

Hopefully this will be addressed better in future UI and OS updates.

Oh a side note, the guy hosting the twitch channel made me laugh. "Xbone pls..."

Update.

The truth has come out. They were playing on a secondary console thus the game needs to be online/verified. In other words, it wasn't being played on the One it was purchased for. There is no DRM check in if you play it on your primary console. The system is working as intended in this case.

Love my Xbox one but this isn't any different than the DRM scheme on Xbox 360 where if you aren't on the purchasing console there is a 24 hour check in period.

DRM is applied on the current Xbox 360 and PS3. Hint: PS3 Jailbreak = jail.

DRM was drop for used games,it doesn't have to check,xbox one games work on all consoles like 360 games and PS4 games,that was part of the DRM and i am pretty sure MS drop it.
