MS Confirm Starfield is Xbox/PC Exclusive

One of the things that has me most excited is seeing the roadmap with Bethesda’s future games, coming to Xbox console and PC, including Starfield, the highly anticipated, new space epic currently in development by Bethesda Game Studios.

That's not confirmation. She stated it's coming to Xbox and PC, but did not refer to other systems. Nor did she state that it's only those systems.

Cool. Will play it on PC in 100fps+ with a 3070 or the amd equivalent.

Now, Bond never uses the work “exclusively,” so a PlayStation release for Starfield can’t be entirely ruled out, but it sure sounds like the game is only coming to PC and Xbox. It would certainly make sense -- $7.5 billion is heck of a lot to spend if you’re not getting big exclusives like Starfield.

Not a confirmation, but don't be surprised if it is exclusive, or at least a timed exclusive. I give it a 50/50 chance.

It's early enough in the development cycle it might not have been locked in for PlayStation, which means Microsoft could still grab it. It all depend on how much work has already been put in the PlayStation version, and how willing Microsoft to mandate pausing or throwing away that work.

Reading the link actually makes me think it's coming to playstation also. They would have said exclusive if it wasn't.

Poor cows, not only is Sony milking them to death with $70 remaster and $50 DLC, they'll be missing out on some of the biggest AAA next Gen games.

You're drunk if you think they're bringing big AAA games to PS.

My guess is that Microsoft holds onto the PS5 version of Starfield for a year or two while they promote it as an exclusive for the Xbox Series Hardware or PC.

By the time the PS5 gets the game, it will be old news and Microsoft might already show off Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 5(or New Vegas 2) which means any hype is pretty much gone.

Just because Microsoft puts it on the PS5 does not mean it has to come out the same day as the Xbox version. Microsoft can hold onto the PS5 version to push the Xbox version and force people to either buy that system or a PC unless they want to wait a few years to play Starfield.

Too bad for PS owners. Hope on xbox they have "~" console cheats for kb&m. Personally its the best way to play bethesda games.

NO that game is not bigger than Bethesda game and having it or not on PS will mean little to MS, now Doom or other games yeah those are bigger and MS can win more by having than by not.

But again if i were MS i would not put then on PS that is how business work you use your strong points, but then again this is a new MS who has already several games on switch and and minecraft on PS as well.

You just made the argument that Bethesda games may come to PS because Minecraft is bigger and it's on PS... By that logic MS should be putting Hellblade on PS as well. Why isn't it? By your logic every game they have should be on PS because they're all smaller than MC... Make up your mind.

I've never heard of this game. I am not even sure what genre it is, so there's no way I can get excited about it.

No one has claimed, implied or stated that Minecraft is not on the PS4. You are making an baseless jump that because Minecraft is on the PS4 all Bethesda games will be on the PS5. You literally have no backing to your claim.

The fact is as stated by your boy Phil Spencer is that games being on other platforms would be handle on a case by case basis which clearly indicates that NOT ALL games will be on other platforms. PS5, is going to be excluded as platform for at least some of their games. So, stop uselessly pivoting to Minecraft and stop port begging. 😂🤣

I’m really expecting all these games to become exclusive to Xbox and PC myself as I think that it really makes sense to do so to drive consumers to the Microsoft platforms and services which is really what Microsoft’s goal is after all.
