Most developers LIE about a game's length.

Here is formula you use next time you read or hear a developer state a game is 70 hours...

AvidGamer's Formula --- Just divide the length the developer states by 2.5 to find the actual length of the game!   

So, if a dev says a game is 100 hours long, it is actually 40!  Simple as that.

So, how many threads CAN you make in a day?  Is this like a contest?

Btw, I would say that just taking 80% of any length a developer tells you would probably give a pretty accurate time. 

This should be like the Everybody votes channel.

Users should only be allowed to make one thread a day.

Disgaea "over 40 hours of gameplay" - your suggested playtime - 16 hours - actual playtime - 100+ hours
Pokemon "over 40 hours of gameplay" - your suggested playtime - 16 hours - actual playtime - 100+ hours

It's only in FPS and such that the length of the single-player campaign is usually exaggerated, though I've found it takes me about the time they claim it will. Multi-player adds a lot, I've easily put several hundred hours into Halo CE and Halo 2.

In Jeff's review, he said it took about 30.

70 / 2.5 = 28

Yes I am sorry, the game is actually only 30 mins long, but you still need to buy it because its freakin zelda!

There's been times when I've wanted to make 20 threads...but GameSpot won't allow you to make more than 10 threads in 24 hours...

When the guys at Nintendo said Twilight princess was gonna be 30-40 hours, and IT WAS 30-40 HOURS, I learned not to doubt Nintendo. Same with Halo 2, about 10 hours. 

Kameo is another example...developer says main quest is 30 hours without attempting to upgrade skills or look for hidden items.

30/2.5 = 12

It is around 12 for the main quest without sidequests.

60 times 2.5 was 150 last time I checked... just a tadbit away from 28 :)

Jeff didn't do everything in the game.  He just played the main quest which only takes 30-40 hours.  If you do everything it takes 55-75 hours.  For me it took 67 hours to do everything WIHOUT a strategy guide.
