they know this is the only thing that is remotely appealing for the X1. Without it X1 is just a cable box.

Well, that's not true. Lot of gamers are interested in Forza 5, Killer Instinct, Halo 5, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3 and some of the other exclusives. People think because they aren't interested in a game every other gamer isn't interested as well. It doesn't work that way.
