It's going to be a new SKU.

He's saying this because an announcement of a new xbox sku coming next year may spread around and that will slow sales of the xbox 360. It's kind of like the samething with the PS3.

This made me consider getting one. They said it was going to last until 2015, so it would be worth the money.

For the record, the whole "10 year life cycle" does not necessarily mean no new console for 10 years. Just means how long it will be on the market, in the vain of the NES, PSOne, PS2, and so on, even though each of those console's successor's were released well before the end of their life cycle. Hell, PS2 still going.

I don't get why nobody seemed to be that skeptical. Announce a new system 1 week after E3? Why not just go for it during E3?

im still expecting news of a new console within the next two years. usually leaks start popping up when the hardware configuration is close to being finalised. and they start getting companies to make the components for the system like hard drives,graphics cards, etc.

imagine what kinda new or old problem this one will have i'm predicting a worst case of rrod

They wouldn't want to announce a a redesign, newer model, whatever you want to call it, at least a year before it comes out. That would drastically slow down sales of the current 360s. I know I would hesitate to buy one.

Guys, M$ isn't going to tell us like this, it's potentially harmful to the current gen.

keep expecting we won't see a new console anytime soon most game companies are going out of business because of the high cost of making games now imagine with the next gen

who knows if it will last anyways like I said it's expensive to make games now imagine next gen imagine the cost of making a system even more powerful than the ones we have.

I take it you don't know much about business but let's just say it's alot of mooolah they are barely making it now I don't think well see a new console for many years that's all i'm saying....

not only system companies but game companies as well many are paying alot of money to make a game risking financial ruin and if the game doesn't make much profit well many game companies are going out of business (remember Tomb Raider) imagine with the next gen of consoles I would not want to be in their shoes having to pay an even higher price to make a game.

so keep expecting next gen in like a year or two lol just don't hold your breath.

thats cool, my bad for sounding like a douche. what im trying to say is that if and when there is a new console. im just assuming in the next two years basically because even if its lets say4 or5 years away they will have to get their manufacturing deals and whatnot in place WAY before the system hits the market. plus sometimes they may have to change hardware at the last minute. so even if were 5 years away i think we,ll start seeing signs in the next 2 or 3 years.

its just were pretty much in the middle of this gen and im starting to wonder what direction the next consoles will go in. less powerful hardware centered around motion controls or continue to increase the horsepower like previous gens. im hoping for the latter but im guessing we,ll get a mixture of the two. i cant see the next MS system not using Natal in some way after they spent all that cash and time pushing the thing on us. and if the system would be over 300$ itd be a complete waste of time. i dont think we,ll be seeing anymore 600$ consoles regardless of what happens. or when. lol
