Microsoft planning another Xbox 360 price cut?

uh yeah. NOV will see another $50 reduction in price of the 360. Not only that but the arcade is going to be priced at $199. Thus forcing Sony into a panic and them dropping the price of the PS3 by another $50. The wii will stay the same and keep the lead. However the 360 will become the cheapest nextgen console with the best games and make a killing this holiday. After that who knows.akuma303x

If MS doesn't do atleast another $50 Price drop with Sony doing there's they are fools IMO.

The big price difference for your console would just look more narrow now if they don't know. All Sony would need is a more and more games to come out and more people will question whether to or not spend an extra $50 and some odd dollars for the PS3.

If I was I would do the Prem at $299.99 atleast

They should only drop the core if they wanna go DVD and HD in the future.

I would drop the core price to match the Wii atleast and give it atleast 256 MB or 512. Add one game and that's good enough for the casuals.

I was really hoping for an immediate price drop; however, it looks like MS is promoting the holiday deal with Forza 2 and Marvel: UA (I already have Marvel and don't want Forza that much).

If the price hits $300 (or even $325) I willSTRONGLY considerbuying a 360. Hopefully these new chips will cut down on RRoD, because that is holding me back right now too.

A price cut only means that more people can experience the new big thing in gaming...

i dont see how ms can think ppl would buy a 120 gig elite over a 40 gig ps3 at the same price when the ps3 has a next gen movie player in it.

unless they lower the price of hd dvd player add on ppl are going to go with the better deal and buy a ps3. when they are ready for next gen

when i bought my 60 gig ps3 it was 499 and the elite was 479. with just buying a hdtv the choice was pretty easy for me....

Forget price cuts - they need to reduce their 30 to 33% hardware failure rate.

These band-aid fixes are not solving any of these problems.

They need to get 65nm GPUs into their consoles PRONTO.

i think they could if they want the ps3 to catch them in user base... ms shoulda droped its price last year and the wii wouldnt have passed it up.if they dont drop the price the day after the 40 gig hits 360 is dead imo

Put some arctic silver 5 on your GPU and you should be good to go. When ever I pick up a 360 that will be the first thing that I do.

Mind linking me to the figures which say the 40GB PS3 isnt outselling the elite?

I have to agree, that should be their number one concern, im totally amazed they have not fixed the RROD problem by now. Especially after finding out the 3 yr warranty coast them over a billion and all the bad publicity. This is just insane, they finally have the chance to be number one, and they screw it up by putting a completely flawed design in their system and not fixing it. On the other hand, they have to lower the prices now the ps3 is $399 with wifi and bluetooth and a Blueray player, if they dont they can guarantee a number 3 spot in the next year.

what they're doing is dropping the core and replacing it with arcade or whatever. wireless controller, memory card, 5 free xbla games. it will be under 300.
