Nice, profits alone double the Zenimax acquisition. I guess they're going to be struggling a lot.

Incomplete game is my guess, another year of polish is never a bad thing ie: Cyberpunk 2077. I've got plenty of games in my rotation with not enough hours, they can take their time.

CP2077 concept was wild. Halo Infinite is just another Halo game and its not like they didn't have enough time. They've been working on this damn thing for ages.

Hey, some of us got into gaming for the fat wads of cash, bro!

You need to find something else to criticize, this shit's getting old. It's like making fun of a 40-year old for something that happened in high school

I don't even like Halo that much and it's bugging me. Move on.

What else is there when they haven't shown anything? Since 343i is in charge, don't you worry, there will be plenty of other things to criticize when its actually shown.

and yet, some "concerned fans" are fake worried about Microsoft and Xbox financials..

*incoming and inevitable @goldenelementxl post about how "the Xbox brand is in its worst position ever" and how "management seems to be in panic mode" (despite having the best launch month for an Xbox console, Game Pass subs growing to 18 million, and XBL MAU growing to 100 million*

"b b bu but teh sustainability!!1!".. "b but teh 3rd place!1!!".. "b bu but teh toolz!!1!"..

all this before we've seen a single new next-gen 1st party title released from Xbox Games Studios and/or from the Bethesda acquisition.. "b bu but teh exclusives1!!" right?,.. so in terms of exclusive gaming software, things can only get better..

Xbox is doing just fine.. get over it..

They don't need to catch up to the cost of Zenimax purchase. It is better for companies like these to make these acquisition than to sit around with devaluing cash.

Hey OP heres some math for you

Xbox 360 (2005) - 80 Million units sold

Xbone (2013) - 40 Million units sold

200% decrease in users. Trash. THats my report theres some stats for you @Pedro@regnaston and phil spencer to look at and people are unhappy with there xb1 too the ones that bought it.

X-Series X (2020) - Worst and Slowest selling Xbox ever in Japan! WORST then Xbone, worse the original xbox, worse than the goat xbox 360 (Japan the 2nd biggest gaming market in the world behind USA you just fucked up)

At some point they need to make some money though. Otherwise, they'll just keep going negative. But whatever, just chiming in on @ghost_of_phobos post.

They are not in the negative. Zenimax on its own is profitable. So, your point that they have to make back the cost of the purchase is misguided. "But whatever" 😎

@Antwan3K: I like how you come out of the woodwork every time the Xbox PR team puts out a statement that you think is positive. The problem is you’ve fallen for PR spin. That’s a common occurrence for you though. I’ll address it shortly.

I gotta admit, I like the confidence and attitude from you. That’s something this place has been missing. The upcoming ownage is gonna be fun.

Xantu did you look at my data though how Xbox 360 doubled XB1 in unit sales, and X-Series X is the lowest performing xbox in Japan the 2nd biggest gaming market in the world? Switch is selling like hot cakes in japan mobile sales are booming japan you can't count these guys out like microsoft has.

@ProtossRushX: yeah, but this is finances, not units. MS has pretty strongly steered away from reliance on console sales now. The consoles make them very little money - their job is to be one option (PCs, phones, tablets beingthe others) for delivering their software services which are what print money

@goldenelementxl: i post when i find something I'm interested in posting about and there's not alot going on during the typical launch drought, as usual,..

Ultimately, the console wars are over and I've admitted as such multiple times.. Sony won with the PS4.. long live the consoles wars champion..

that said, I'm mostly interested in platform and ecosystem stuff at this point in terms of SW because that's the undeniable and inevitable future of gaming in a digital and cloud based world.. and in that world, Microsoft and Xbox are the best prepared for that playing field in terms of the "big three"..

the writing has been on the wall for a long time, sir.. NPDs, console sales, and etc are declining metrics for software success.. but it's still fun seeing folks like you cling those ideals.. honestly, that's what's truly going to be "fun" about whatever retort you're going to try and cobble together..

standing by.. 😎

MS being profitable doesn't mean they're breaking even with all of their investments. It will take time. MS as a whole made $15 billion according to the report. How much of that is actually going to Xbox to cover that Zenimax purchase? But again, that wasn't even my point. All I said is that it'll take time for the acquisition to break even and expecting it to be covered by this quarter is erroneous. Sorry that bothers you so much lol

yep, and at the end of the day, "who cares?"..

my backlog of Xbox games is crazy, Game Pass is piling on new content every month, and Xbox gamers still have the entirety of Xbox Games Studios and Bethesda to look forward to beyond this year..

Clearly, the Xbox division isn't going anywhere.. Clearly, they're investing heavily in Xbox.. Clearly, there's tons of content to play on Xbox.. and clearly, Game Pass continues to be the best deal in gaming..

so all that said, why all this fake concern about financials?.. 🤔.. "who cares?"

Stop! Just stop! I am not sure why you are parading ignorance like the rest of your faction but you are spewing nonsense. MS doesn't have to "break even" or make back the 7.5 billion that they invested in Zenimax. They bought a profitable publisher. They are in the black by the default. As stated before, it is better for the company to invest their cash than to let it devalue overtime because of inflation. This "MS have to make their money back" is nothing but nonsense. Acquisitions are NOT like buying and reselling products.

Absolutely not! Are you willfully ignoring the post from Ghost? Or are you just trolling?

"Pedro is trolling because he called me out on my ignorance. " Please. Save me the nonsense. Maybe if you read what he wrote you would not have had that knee jerk fanboy reaction. Let me remind you

Nice, profits alone double the Zenimax acquisition. I guess they're going to be struggling a lot.

Now take a look at your dumb response that led to more stupidity because you were wrong in your assertion... Isn't it entertainingly ignorant? 😎

Microsoft making cash of selling turds doesn’t change it from being a turd.

You can’t polish poop, i’ve tried.

@Zero_epyon: Microsoft "reporting revenue of $43.1 billion and a net income of $15.5 billion."

7.5x2=15

Somehow you have no problem with Ghost saying MS as a whole making 15 Billion means Xbox's game division made back twice as much as the Zenimax acquisition, followed by "I guess they're going to be struggling a lot." The implication being that Xbox isn't losing money and is overall unphased by the Zenimax acquisition.

But you're raging at me because I simply said that MS as a whole making that much doesn't mean Xbox's $7.5 billion hole just disappeared. Nothing crazy here. So put the lem rage back in in the bottle man.
