Metro vs Bioshock. Which is better franchise?

Bioshock 2 is better than any Metro game.

Agreed. Bioshock: Infinite is a masterpiece generations will be discussing and dissecting.

Also, people complain about Metro having average gameplay when bioshock also have even below average gameplay save by atmosphere that even Metro have better atmosphere. lol.

Bioshock by a large margin for me. The setting in Bioshock is different. The narrative was pretty good in Bioshock as well.

Metro is a very average shooter with way too many walking sections. It is basically CoD without the part everyone wants, the MP.

Definitely Bioshock for me. Tried one of the Metro games awhile back but just couldn’t get into it at all. On the other hand I very much enjoyed the three Bioshock games.

I think Bioshock nails the story and setting over Metro. I'd rather be transported to a Utopia gone wrong (Half Life also starts off with an experiment gone wrong) than bleak and dreary Soviet Russia.

However Metro nails the gameplay over Bioshock, I'd rather fiddle with my weapons, use limited use torches and clean my gasmask over whatever the heck Bioshock Infinite tried doing.

So maybe Atomic Heart will combine the best of both? Or maybe it will combine the worst of both with Far Cry sprinkled on top?

@uninspiredcup: Adam Sessler had his eyes opened and his life was never the same after it. And that's all good and everything, but clearly other people didn't feel the same.

I like the Saw films and by god they have a good twist at the end, but others see those movies like trash.

The only good things about metro is the weapons design, gunplay (even tho i heard many dislike it. i liked it), graphics and atmosphere. In bioshock 1 and 2, everything was excellent. Bioshock wins by a mile.

shooting in bioshock suck. atmosphere is subjective. both have good atmosphere but Metro with gasmask system nailed it.

Bioshock 1 was only good (even if its system shock 2 simplified version) and other 2 suck. infact infinite is among the worst AAA FPS ever made speak it.

Metro blow bioshock out of water.

I voted for Metro, since I'm a sucker for that type of atmosphere, and the shooting generally feels much better.

Bioshock games all have incredible settings and some cool stories but I much prefer the moment to moment gameplay in Metro (apart from some of the awful lengthy story/dialogue sequences in Exodus)

Bioshock 1 in particular has some rather stinky gunplay that really brings down the experience.

I think I'd take Bioshock 1/Infinite over 2033 though. Last Light and Exodus I think i'd take over any Bioshock game.

Metro 100%

Bioshock wasn't bad but it felt a bit too high on it's own farts. Felt like all you did was freeze and smash people.

And for those of us expecting a worthy successor to System Shock 2? Oooof, big BIIIIIIIIG letdown. I think that is ultimately its greatest crime.

I did like Bioshock: Infinite, though. It seemed to drop the fake college know-it-all attitude of the first two games and just go straight for good shooter action and a clear commentary on nationalism and far-right politics.

Is everyone just voting Bioshock just to imagine Ghost’s disappointed little face?

Shooting in Bioshock doesn't suck, its just inferior to Metro's. Graphics are better in Metro, but Bioshock is made on UE3, so what do you expect? Its not like we have a more recently released Bio game. And lets not forget, the level design and art style in bioshock is way better than anything in Metro, nor does it use an abysmal fake russian accent that even my ears told me it sounds mega cringe.

Too split to declare a winner. Metro 2033 and Last Light are some of my favorite games but Exodus was a major disappointment, whereas the Bioshock series is a more competent trilogy overall.

Bioshock is easily a more mastered work in execution, great production values all around, but Metro games are so unique that I can easily overlook many of its shortcomings, even the original 2033 with all its flaws that got ironed out with Redux to be more like Last Light. I've always had a kind of underdog appreciation for Metro, so they feel in different ballparks.

Interesting match-up since we get Atomic Heart in a couple weeks and it looks like Bioshock and Metro had a baby.

Bioshock 2 was good, Bioshock 1 was ok, Infinate was crap. Metro 1 was good, Metro 2 was a bit better, Exodus was boring. Overall I enjoyed Metro more i recon.

@uninspiredcup: Good game, but what’s there to dissect for that long? It’s a pretty simple shooter. Story is pretentious fodder.

looking at poll. Metro is very hated. people treat it badly. when bioshock have even more mediocre gameplay save for amazing setting and one of the best villain.

LOL never played System shock 2. it still craps all over bioshock games.

The remaster was enough for me to see how how ancient it feels and plays.

because unlike bioshock which is walking in straight line. System shock is deep and intelligent game. a proper immersive sim.

I like Bioshock 2, don't care much for the others. It's an edgy take. An instant crosshair. But gotta endure.

I voted Bioshock although I prefer Metro.

Hate is a strong word. Most people who've played Metro have probably enjoyed it somewhat.

I enjoyed the first game back when I wasn't completely fed up with games similar to Call of Duty. Last Light was pretty meh. Exodus was awful.

Meanwhile, both BioShock and BioShock 2 were good, while Infinite was terrible. So BioShock wins.

Last light was meh? it was actually improved upon previous. although I prefer 2033 but still last light was amazing and feel like evolution of series unlike bioshock 2 that aka saving little sister and collecting adam simulator. worst part of bioshock 1 near the end was that and they decide to make whole game using this formula.

Exodus is also amazing. most underrated game of last gen. still best looking game of all time.

Cant wait for Metro 4.

@sealionact: I think everyone is voting Bioshock because its literally miles ahead of Metro. It is not even close. I am convinced the 17% that voted Metro are trolling. it should be 97% Bioshock.

you only like mainstream games. im bigger FPS fan and this is why I hate bioshock infinite. original was ok.

but non FPS fan or third person movie game fan. infinite is treat for them.

Infinite was kind of trash, but in general Bioshock has better gameplay, especially the second game.

@ghosts4ever: they both sucked my friend. Alan wake also sucked. Halo is the best. I'm actually playing halo reach right now, and it's a true master piece.

I prefer Metro, but I get why a lot of people would go for Bioshock.

It's getting sad really....I like some average games too, like Days Gone, but I don't try and shove it down everyone's throat
