This is shaping up to be a great title. On top having much improved gameplay and world, it is continuing the tradition of using latest PC features.

Easily my most hype game. this is the game i had been dreaming of since years. They are turning Metro into STALKER thus it may become one of the greatest game of all time.
whats not to like about dark atmospheric immersive world that only russian/ukraine developers can make.
It has nipples in it so I'm boycotting it. I can't be looking at them.
But this is not last light. this is exodus and they didnot market it unlike cyberpunk which tell maturity is equal to nudity lol.
@boycie: It’s giving me unwanted romantic feelings. Why does a super manly game like Metro need romance? Worst game ever.

This is definitely a big issue. This might be a reason to wait for sale folks.

Hilarious !
I think we have enough lighting tech. How about darkness tech? So darn few games get darkness right.
Welp, looks like new graphics king over BF5 and Shadow of the Tomb raider on PC.
plus it also looks more ambitious than cyberpunk.
last time something like this impress me was in 2007 Crysis 1.

It's because of you. You're laughing stock in here, because you only like manly games, gritty shooters and everything else is garbage to you, you don't respect people's tastes, one might say you're the FPS version of TryIt. It's not that we hate Metro, we just don't take you seriously.
The game just doesnt look manly enough, prob gonna buy new tomb raider instead, at least Lara has some balls

I'll reserve judgment on that when Cyberpunk 2077 releases, thank you!
But for now, Metro: Exodus is indeed graphics King....for now at least :)

I respect your opinion my friend.

In cyberpunk. there is only one single world albeit large.
In Metro there are large sandbox multiple location. and it has been in development since 2014.

Cyberpunk was first announced in 2012

Ghost. Please. It does not look more ambitious than Cyberpunk. Metro is going to be amazing, but it's a far cry from what CD Projekt is trying to do with Cyberpunk.
Stop being your biased self, or drop your act, because it's old.
All these games look pretty. The major issue was the over-use of scripting and linearity.
You can make a QTE stabbing the monster the prettiest graphics in all the world, but it won't compare to an uninterrupted engaging combat encounter.
Next to me obviously picking up a hard copy of this game day one on the X1X, I can truely appreciate the beautiful light and shadow tracing going on here. People perhaps don't fully realize the evolutionary step of gaming rendering technology that's going on here due to their wallets not being able to afford a pair of these cards and run it at 1440p 60fps, but this kind of rendering now won't stop gaming from looking like Animated movies.
Though, I'd much much rather have great animation systems running in games. Look at GTA IV for example. That game used the Euphoria engine for it's physics simulations to bring lifelike dynamic animations to collision events. Here is to hoping Red Dead Redemption 2 will use it. Those kind of dynamic effects enhance gaming much more than just the way it cosmetically looks imo.
Can't wait to play love the animations in the game I'm not really a gun nut but man that looks cool as hell. 1:15
@MonsieurX: Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro Exodus are my two most hyped games. Both games are developed by independant studios and don't use shady business models in their games and that shows. Ending this generation with a bang. X1X will be lovely.

Metro is more than scripting QTE. infact they are far more immersive than many of old classic PC shooters.
also Exodus is more like Stalker so who cares. this is different appraoch.

That again ties into good lighting engine. The problem with baked/predifined lighting is exactly that, you can't have natural looking dark/bright areas simultaneously.

The darkness didn't need tech, they just believed in a thing called love!
Playing through Last Light right now in anticipation for Exodus.
I must say I'm dissapointed by the video options or lack thereof, and the vertical mouse sensitivity is fucking horrible. How can an FPS dev make the vertical sensitivity 10 times slower than horizontal and be happy about it? What the actual ****. Saw today that there's a fix for this. Downloading that shit as soon as I get home from work.
I hope they get their shit together for Exodus.

In the real world, you can have both intense lighting and darkness at the same time. It all depends on whether the light source is focused or unfocused. There are some that more focused than others. I've seen plenty enough of the latter from a helicopter flying above.
That's why I really want real-time ray-tracing to take off.

That is precisely what I'm talking about, you can only have that if you have realtime GI and ideally with multiple bounces. So that you have brighter areas, dark areas as well as areas somewhere in between closer to what you have in real world because of indirect lighting. That's fundamentally the problem with baked lighting, you could either make it dark or bright because light is not behaving as it should. And I agree Ray-tracing is the ideal solution if you want to achieve that whether it's practical enough is remains to be seen.
