Metro Exodus "Definitive Version" coming to next PS5 & XSX/S

a remaster of the 2019 game made to take advantage of the hardware capabilities of the PS5 & XSX/S. It will be a free upgrade to all owners of the game (assuming you stayed in the same ecosystem).

XBOX will auto upgrade via smart delivery. PS5 will be able to download the new game separately.

Releases June 18th.

I have never played this game. Anyone that has played it, did you like it?

I tried playing it when it was on Gamepass and the developer apparently didn't want me to play because they were too focus on pushing their mediocre story.

My friend loved Metro but I've never tried them, might give them a try when I get a Series X.

Enemies respawning in under 5 minutes has completely ruined the game for me. If they stayed dead (or took hours to respawn), i'd be all over Exodus because the rest of the game is great (except the story which suxxx).

Terrible game

I played it for an hour because I convinced myself it must get better….it didn’t. Awful gunplay, shoddy sluggish movement and a story that left me totally uninterested.

It's looking pretty good.

Do anyone know if the remastered version will be on GamePass or not?

Honestly I would rather they remaster Meteo 2033 and Last Light for 9th gen consoles than to touch up on maybe the worst entry of the three. If they were to do a collection same way WB made the Return to Arkham collection, they'd be even more justified to omit Exodus than WB was to omit Origins.

Metro games put me to sleep. Call of Duty is a much more action packed and fun series.

The real reason they're doing this is to add more advanced ray tracing, which is why it's free and why the PC version requires a GPU capable of RT to even run the game. Doing that for those other games would have needed a lot more work.

exodus is at its best when it gets out of your way and lets you choose how to play. when it does that you get a reasonable degree of creative freedom. you can tactically make use of day and night cycles, different weaponry options and viable stealth and action approaches. that's when the immersion gets cranked up and the game gets atmospheric for me.

unfortunately these new, more sandboxy style sections are sandwiched in between contrastingly long bouts of the old, highly scripted and linear styles of the previous two metro games, which makes exodus a game with a bit of a multiple personality disorder, stuck in this transitional state between old style and new.

i'll probably give the remaster a go on ps5. it didn't perform too great on the ps4. maybe some graphical polish will take the edge off some of the game's less palatable design choices

the first 2 were better,and are now 120fps on the serious X through fps boost,

Iv been playing the DLC, its a bit weak TBH but the ray traced lighting is very nice in some areas.

Easily one of the best game of last gen.

I hated how to get the good ending it essentially required you not killing anyone.

Nah im done with this game and metro if doom wants to play it he can.

Great, I bought this on a discount last year but never had the chance to play it.

Just play how you like and then watch the different endings on YouTube.

Bought it again for 11 euros just to try it out on my PS5.

I might replay it, I've enjoyed the game quite a lot. Except, the first couple of hours are plain bad and clumsy. But once the game gets going it's actually good, although quality is inconsistent.

How will they do all lighting in RT on consoles? Or are we looking at another 1080p/30 title on 8K/120 FPS consoles?

Pretty much my experience as well. Might be a good game in there later on, but who cares? I got games to play that are good from the beginning.

I also wouldn't recommend playing FPS games on consoles.

I own it for ps4, when does the free update come out?

Based on the expected PC performance, 1440p60 should be doable.

I got it for like 10 bucks on PS4 then the PS5 version got announced. I'm going to wait until the PS5 version goes on sale. The last light was okay nothing amazing.

Oh right, forgot about those videos. I think it's the same for PS5. If the RT is mostly on low I think native 4K with some drops is possible.

Definitely for Xbox (that's part of how Smart Delivery works), almost certainly for PS5.

Downloaded my PC version today. Overall, with DLSS (Balanced) and 4K/RT Extreme settings, i'm locking 60 from what little I played. IQ is great, and for a free upgrade it's solid.

I find reasons to like most games I play but the Metro series is one I have a hard time enjoying... it's just so damn boring.
