Forced myself to play it, replay it 3-4 times. Abysmal experience. Will never forget.
Why?

Why?
Because back then, i was all about those achievements. What a waste of time that was. I remember playing so many shitty games just to get the 1000/1000.

Well now achievements are actually worth something. Not much but something.
Lets be measured, here. Metro doesnt suck, and it's not amazing. It has some column A, column B
If we broke it down into pros and cons
Pros:
-Nice shiny RTX graphics
-Running over people in that truck during the desert level was fun
Cons:
-Braindead AI
-Buggy as hell
-That mindnumbingly boring and slow row boat traversal
-Generic post apocolyptic world (I rolled my eyes when I met the cannibals and slavers)
-Retroactively ruins the atmosphere of 2033 and Last Light knowing humans and mutants seem to peacefully co exist on the surface that often times resembles a holiday resort
-Ditched the uniqueness of what made 2033 and Last Light so interesting to become a generic FarCry clone
-Gasmask mechanic is completely pointless. No tension or sense of urgency when exploring the surface
-Godawful story
-Godawful characters
-Godawful dialogue and voice acting
-Godawful quest design
-Nonsensical "morality" system that punishes you for defending yourself against hostile enemies
-Rehashed the Library level from 2033 because they ran out of ideas (although they didn't have any to begin with, hence the generic cannibals and slavers)
The list goes on...
